[Draw & Earn!]( Editor's Note Copy/Pasting Bored Apes Online One of the ultimate signs of being a DeFi degen is changing your Twitter profile picture to one of the most sought-after NFTs — bored apes and punks. American television host Jimmy Fallon has just joined these "elite" masses by changing his own, verified Twitter profile to Bored Ape #599, featuring a sea captain’s hat and heart sunglasses. And as you’ll read below, this particular Ape NFT’s last transaction was for 46.6 ETH, or about $217,000. The usual NFT jokes followed Fallon’s NFT Twitter update, with random users tweeting that they had "stolen" the Ape by copying the picture and saving it to their laptops. Hilarious! Original! This idea of NFTs being easily "stealable" with a right-click and save is a joke that has already spread to the likes of Instagram memelord account @F***Jerry (who posted an alleged screenshot of a Twitter DM last week of an irate NFT owner on Twitter messaging someone — "You think it’s funny to take screenshots of people’s NFTs, huh? Property theft is a joke to you?") Another [right-click/save NFT joke]( recently made the rounds on Twitter, with over 172,000 likes — one Twitter user tells another "Images are not NFT’s; you bought a ‘token’ (that’s the T in NFT)" and the other responds in shock "what have I spent all my money on then?? Wtf." Regardless of whether these NFT copy/save memes are trolls or not, the concept of NFT art is hard to grasp for some people. The best explanation, I’ve found, is the oft-used comparison to the Mona Lisa. You can buy smaller prints of the Mona Lisa, you can take a picture of it and frame it yourself, you can even buy a painted replica and hang it on your wall — but now matter how real your Mona Lisa looks, there is only one original. That’s our NFT explanation, and you can take it or leave it — but it doesn’t mean that you ever have to stop right-clicking and saving Bored Apes online. Just remember that you’re not actually "stealing" anyone’s JPEG, you’re not going to prison for property theft if you also change your Twitter profile picture to Bored Ape #599.
