However, this is not technically the ETF that we have all been waiting for — instead, it’s a BTC exchange-traded fund based on futures contracts. Physically-based Bitcoin ETFs — where you would get a chance to invest in Bitcoin, rather than futures contracts for Bitcoin — are still waiting on U.S. approval. These physically-backed BTC ETFs have long been held up as one of the holy grails for getting more investors in the crypto markets. With a physical Bitcoin ETF still off in the mythical future, many are resting their hopes for mass Bitcoin investment adoption on this "almost" Bitcoin ETF (the futures aspect means that the ETF tracks only the approximate price of Bitcoin). On the other hand, due to the approximate nature of the ETF and the .95% in annual fees, others are wondering — why go through this futures Bitcoin ETF when you get just get on a crypto exchange and buy real Bitcoin directly? It’s a good point — let’s see how the market reacts when this ETF goes live later today. SPONSORED AD Buy $100+ of Crypto, Get $50 of Bitcoin Trusted by millions of users across 200 countries.
