Tom Brady does. The former Patriots’ quarterback said in a podcast interview this week that he’d be interested in receiving some of his salary in cryptocurrency. "I’d love to request to get paid in some crypto and, you know, to get paid in some Bitcoin or Ethereum or Solana tokens." Getting paid in crypto goes against a lot of the current norms of the crypto industry — namely, don’t put in more than you are willing to lose. If you are getting your monthly salary in crypto, does that mean that you need to be willing for your paycheck to go to zero? At least right now, in this pseudo-bull market, that’s not usually the case. If you have been getting your salary in any of those three cryptos over the past few months, you not only haven’t been losing money, you’ve probably been making multiple times more than you were before. This is not true across the board (if you started getting paid in crypto when Bitcoin was at $60,000, for instance….you might not be so happy with your savings now). But in general, the idea of getting a lump sum in crypto every month does fall into the popular crypto investing strategy of "[dollar-cost averaging]( — where you spread your purchases across predefined intervals in order to avoid short-term volatility. If you’re a big dollar-cost averaging believer (or just a true crypto fan), getting paid in crypto might be for you. Or you could take a roundabout approach, and convert a portion of your fiat salary every month into the crypto of your choice. Or you could think we are all crazy, and keep your fiat salary for living expenses totally separate from any speculative crypto investing. It’s up to you to decide. And maybe consider that Tom Brady has had multiple concussions and head injuries over his long football career. SPONSORED AD The Most Popular Way to Trade Crypto Low fees, 80+ trading pairs.
