But that's what she's saying happened, after it was discovered that a press release photo of the princess and her three kids was digitally altered. The incident has the internet feeling a lot of different ways and has fueled a host of new conspiracy theories about the princess, but let's back up. How do you spot when a photo has been digitally altered or AI-generated? CNET's Ian Sherr [points out the telltale signs]( in the royal photo and offers his expertise about how to spot such editing. Soon, though, you may not need to worry about having such a critical eye. Companies such as Samsung are incorporating tech into new products that [labels photos edited with AI]( using watermarks, metadata and other methods. Photo editing isn't new, of course, for the royals or the general public. And with the continued development of photo editing technology, this won't be the last incident like this.
