Microsoft’s [Seeing AI app is now available on Android](. The app is designed to help people who are blind or low-vision complete tasks by creating auditory descriptions. The app uses artificial intelligence to narrate what's in a person’s surroundings. All you have to do is point your phone's camera at an object, and Seeing AI will provide a description. As of now, the app can work in 18 languages, with plans to expand to 36 in 2024. It can describe people and scenery, identify currency and read text, typed and handwritten. It’s available on the Google Play and Apple App Store now. Microsoft isn’t the only tech giant to use AI to improve accessibility offerings. Google’s Lookout app uses [AI to create descriptions]( for images lacking alt text. Apple’s [Personal Voice feature]( uses machine learning to help those at risk of speech loss re-create their voice.
