At least, that would seem to be why the company has implemented updates to Alexa that make it more conversational. At its September event, Amazon executive Dave Limp demonstrated an updated Alexa and said responses “[have started to be infused with personality]( Alexa isn’t the only AI getting a more human touch -- Meta, Google and OpenAI are aiming to make their AI products more conversational. CNET’s Katie Collins writes that this signifies “a shift in the way we interact with computers. On our travels through the online world, we increasingly won’t be alone.” This all prompts the question: Can we truly be friends with AI?
