The Korean company is gearing up for its summer [Samsung Unpacked]( event, where it looks like it'll unveil new models of the [Galaxy Z Fold]( and the [Galaxy Z Flip]( among other gizmos. I’ve been intrigued by the Galaxy Z Flip since I’m a sucker for small devices that can fit in my pocket. I’m really hoping that Samsung adds some juice to the battery life, so that it can more readily rival mainstream non-foldable phones. Of course, Samsung has some exciting competition in the foldable category, as Motorola recently released its updated [Razr Plus]( flip phone. The Razr looks really appealing to me and I would have been incredibly tempted by it, were it not for my commitment to the Apple ecosystem. Flip phones might have been a big part of our mobile past, but I’m positive they’re about to be a huge part of our future as well. Eventually, someone is going to make a flip phone that’s going to be irresistible. Whenever that happens, I’m going to be first in line to get it -- even if it’s not made by Apple.
