the great reason your representative is heading back to D.C. this week I want to make sure we’re all on the same page about some incredible news, folks! Yesterday, the Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act to reduce the cost of prescription drugs, generate savings for families, take on climate, and invest in clean energy. THIS IS MAJOR! I know what you’re thinking -- FINALLY! I’ve been feeling that way, too. But we still have some work ahead of us, because getting something this big done is never simple. Senate passage of this bill is one major hurdle, but now we need the House of Representatives to pass it, as well. This is such a big deal that Speaker Pelosi is calling lawmakers back to DC from recess for the vote. So, now is the time to tell them where you stand: [Contact your representative right now and tell them to get the Inflation Reduction Act over the finish line and deliver for families like yours.]( Once the House passes the Inflation Reduction Act, the bill will head to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law! This will be a historic moment -- a win for families hit with high energy and medical bills; for people across the country who voted in record numbers for climate champions to act on that urgency; and for young people who demanded immediate action from their elected officials. BUT -- I’ve been an organizer for a long time, and if there’s one thing I know, it’s that it’s not over until it’s done. So now is the time to call your lawmaker and make sure they know how important this bill is to you and your community. [Tell them to pass the Inflation Reduction Act now and deliver on climate!]( If you’ve been waiting for the best moment to speak out, now is the time. Your voice matters, and your representatives need to hear from you now. [So make your voice heard.]( Not sure what to say? We’ve got you covered. [Click here for a short script you can read to share your support for the Inflation Reduction Act.]( Feel free to adapt it to share why passing the Inflation Reduction Act is important to you and your family. Thank you for speaking up and making your voice heard, Lori Lodes Climate Power [tw]( [fb]( [yt]( [ig]( [Home]( [About]( [CP]( Climate Power 555 Capitol Mall, Suite 1095 Sacramento, CA 95814 United States If you wish to no longer receive email from us, please [unsubscribe](.
