The impact of the climate crisis on America’s infrastructure has been made terrifyingly clear by these disasters -- and that’s just in the last few weeks. [Climate Power 2020]( Climate disasters are wreaking havoc on our infrastructure. Congress must prioritize President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda to tackle the climate crisis and build a 100% clean energy future ASAP: [ADD YOUR NAME]( The climate crisis IS an infrastructure crisis, right now. The country has been devastated by record-breaking heat, droughts, wildfires, flooding, and tropical storms -- wreaking havoc on America’s infrastructure and proving the urgent need for a 100% clean energy future. Let’s take a look at what’s happened in just the past few weeks: Last month was the hottest June ever recorded in North America, boiling infrastructure while millions of Americans -- from New York to Texas and Oregon -- were asked to conserve energy for fear of power outages. (And that wasn’t even the first time extreme weather stressed power grids this year. Remember when Texas’ power grid collapsed under the strain of Winter Storm Uri?) Right now, in addition to record heat, 100% of California and 93% of the West is in drought, causing water levels to reach historic lows -- experts predict the Hoover Dam could stop producing electricity by mid-century! Meanwhile, in the Midwest, severe storms proved too much for Detroit’s infrastructure to handle, with failing water pumps leaving highways flooded and cars stranded for days. And only a few days ago, severe storms ahead of Tropical Storm Elsa (one of the earliest E-name storms ever recorded) saw New York City subway platforms flooded in waist-deep water and highways brought to a standstill due to failing drainage. The impact of the climate crisis on America’s infrastructure has been made terrifyingly clear by these disasters -- and that’s just in the last few weeks. [Congress must take action now, because tackling the climate crisis IS tackling our infrastructure crisis. If you agree, add your name now to demand Congress ACT on President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda to tackle the climate crisis and deliver a 100% clean energy future.]( This is our moment. Let’s get to work. Climate Power In 2020, Climate Power changed the politics of climate -- and now it’s time for ACTION. We hope you’re still in this fight with us, and we’ll keep you updated on how to stay in-the-know and how to get involved to demand action.
