- How Tayler Schweigert built his business GOOGLE IS MAKING BIG UPDATES TO THEIR SPAM PREVENTION REQUIREMENTS In February 2024 Google and Yahoo are rolling out new spam prevention requirements. Ultimately, if you donât meet these requirements, your emails wonât be arriving in the inbox. Hereâs how to make sure yours do: 1. Set up the three email authentication systems To ensure your emails get delivered to Gmail and Yahoo users you need to confirm you have all three email authentication systems set up. You typically set these up in the DNS settings or wherever your domain is hosted and get the info for them from your email provider. Here are the three systems: - Sender policy framework (SPF) An SPF record is a TXT record in your domain's DNS settings that lists all the servers authorized to send email on behalf of your domain. It helps prevent others from using your domain to send spam or malicious email. - Domainkeys identified mail (DKIM)DKIM involves adding another TXT record to your domain's DNS settings. This record holds a public key that receiving email servers use to verify messages sent from your domain are actually from you and haven't been changed along the way. - Domain message authentication reporting (DMARC)DMARC is set up by adding a DMARC record to your domain's DNS settings. It tells receiving email servers what to do if an email claims to be from your domain, but fails SPF or DKIM checks, providing an extra layer of protection against spoofing and phishing attacks. 2. Make Unsubscribing Easy for Users
All bulk senders must give more control to email recipients via the unsubscribe option. According to Googleâs blog post: â[â¦] weâre requiring that large senders give Gmail recipients the ability to unsubscribe from commercial email in one click, and that they process unsubscription requests within two days. Weâve built these requirements on open standards so that once senders implement them, everyone who uses email benefits.â 3. Keep Spam Complaints Lower Than 0.3%
This last requirement is probably the most notable of the bunch. This approach aims to prevent users from being spammed with unwanted or irrelevant messages by implementing a spam rate threshold requirement. Gmailâs current email sender guidelines recommend keeping spam complaints below 0.1% (no more than 0.3% for âany sustained period of timeâ), but right now it's just a recommendation. Starting Feb, itâll no longer be a recommendation; rather, itâll be an enforced requirement. So, if you want to have any hope of your messages reaching recipientsâ inboxes, youâd better get started on meeting these requirements now. To learn more about these three requirements, check out Googleâs requirements for all senders and its additional requirements for sending 5,000 or more messages per day [here](. If youâre using CF 2.0 for your emails, there is a handy guide on [How to Verify DKIM Keys]( [SPF Records]( and [DMARC Records](. We would also recommend setting up Google Postmaster Tools [here]( as it gives you lots of information about deliverability, reputation, and whether your email is set up correctly for Google and Yahoo. A SHORTCUT TO CONFIDENCE AND CHARISMA? When it comes to taking massive action with your business or putting yourself out there as the attractive character, itâs very easy to get nervous and hold back. If youâve found yourself overwhelmed by resistance, creating an 'alter ego' may be a game-changing strategy. An alter ego, a concept discussed by Todd Herman in "The Alter Ego Effect," is about adopting a secret identity that embodies the traits and characteristics required to help you overcome that resistance. Todd Herman shares numerous real-life stories in his book, illustrating how alter egos have helped individuals break barriers and achieve remarkable success: Basketball legend Kobe Bryant channeled his alter ego, âBlack Mamba,â to stay focused and ferocious on the court. Beyoncé Knowles created âSasha Fierceâ to overcome stage fright and deliver electrifying performances. Psychologists have found that such 'self-distancing' strategies can lead to enhanced self-regulation, which is crucial for overcoming challenges. The term alter ego comes from Cicero, who coined it in 44 BC. In its root form, it means âthe other eyeâ or âtrusted friend.â Weâre all held back to a degree by that internal voice that tells us weâre not enough, that people donât want what weâre offering, who are we to share/teach/do this? This is where your alter ego steps in. In those areas where youâre really trying to perform, you bring out your alter ego, your trusted friend. It diminishes those negative thoughts and allows you to bring your best self to the plate. Hereâs how to create your own alter ego: 1: Understand your alter egoâs role
Are you trying to lead your team? Or are you trying to give the ultimate webinar? In order to craft your alter ego, you have to first get clear on the role that alter ego will be playing. If you have a few roles in mind, take a moment to write them all down. 2: Understand the abilities that alter ego would have
In Toddâs words, âIf you could go into the lab and create a person who is going to help you win, what traits and abilities would they have? Would it be playful? Would it be detail-oriented? Would it be free-flowing? OR, is there someone or something else that you admire that you sometimes âwishâ you were that person or wish you could be like them?â 3: Decide upon your alter ego
Kobe embodied a black mamba and Beyonce created Sasha Fierce. In his book, Todd talked about a client called âThe Big Waveâ. The Big Wave was his clientâs way of embodying the fierce ocean, something he had a deep connection to as he grew up on a tropical island. Your alter-ego can come from anywhere you want. It can be a person you know, an element, a completely made up person, anything because itâs yours, and no one elseâs. 4: Find an artifact or token to help activate your alter ego
Finally, find an item that helps you activate your alter ego. This taps into a psychological phenomenon called âenclothed cognition.â Enclothed cognition is, for example, if someone walks in with a doctorâs coat on, we naturally, without even thinking about it, think, âOkay, theyâre competent, theyâre successful.â By creating and embracing an alter ego, you're not merely playing pretend; youâre utilizing a secret used by some of the most successful people to have lived. Youâre accessing a toolbox of traits and attitudes that can significantly enhance your performance and transform your life. WHATâS HAPPENING AT CLICKFUNNELS THIS WEEK James Curran is sharing Linchpin tactics

Now, what should you send when people join your list or product? Your onboarding email is the first email your users will receive from you. So this is a great opportunity to make a lasting first impression on your users. Here are the 6 elements your onboarding email must have: 1. Thank your users: This oneâs obvious but your customers are busy people. Acknowledge that they have taken a chance by trying your product. Send them your welcome email within 5-10 mins of signing up. 2. Personalize: Make sure your email is personalized to the recipient by their first name (at the very least). 3. No overwhelm: Keep it short, sweet & packed with value. 4. Identify your userâs one clear JTBD: The âJob to be doneâ framework is pretty powerful. Give your users a simple, straightforward task to accomplish that will enable them to get the most out of your product or service. This could be to add your email to the safe senders list so they get your newsletters or schedule a time to have the first session with you. 5. Have one main CTA corresponding to the JTBD: Have one clear Call To Action (CTA). If applicable, try including a button CTA as theyâre reported to perform better than text CTAs. 6. Encourage customers to reply: Replies are positive signals that help your email deliverability so ask questions to encourage them to reply. A great example of an onboarding email is from Seth Wright for his newsletter [Wrestling Snacks](. Itâs personalized, honest, gives an insight of whatâs ahead, and has a clear CTA. A lot to unpack in this one.
