Maintain that after-event glow, enhance productivity, and much more… Newsletter #14: Maintain that after-event glow, enhance productivity, and much more… By The ClickFunnels Team October 2, 2023 All of the energy and excitement from Funnel Hacking Live is still strong. What a great week! We’re going to be sharing some of the gold the speakers shared with us behind the scenes throughout the next few newsletters. While we get those together, let’s dive into the nuggets we’ve found for you today… WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO DISCOVER... - 3 steps to maintaining that after-event glow - Get the insights from FHL - A 4-step system to enhancing productivity - Top advice from a 2CC winner - How businesses can acquire big media channels HOW TO MAINTAIN THAT AFTER-EVENT GLOW The inspiring speeches and fantastic networking experiences of a live event often leave us with a renewed sense of purpose and a surge of motivation. However, it's not uncommon for this initial boost to diminish once we return to regular life. Here are 3 steps to help you maintain the momentum you’ve built during those transformative experiences: 1. Craft an immediate action plan: During the event, your mind would have been buzzing with new ideas and strategies. To maintain that high, it’s crucial to craft a detailed action plan to put those ideas into practice. Create a list of manageable tasks, and make sure you tackle them one by one. Implementing the newfound knowledge promptly not only reinforces the learning but also maintains the drive and enthusiasm sparked by the event. 2. Connect with your new-found friends: The connections made during such events are invaluable. Establishing a strong network of like-minded and motivated individuals can provide continuous learning, support, and motivation. One of the best things you can do to keep the motivation alive is to share your action plan with your new connections and schedule regular check-ins to discuss how you’re progressing. 3. Continue learning: One of the key drivers of the motivation and excitement you feel at an event is the new ideas and possibilities you discover. To keep this aspect of it alive, it is essential to keep learning. Read books, attend webinars, or enroll in courses. This ongoing building of knowledge and skills will fuel your passion and keep you motivated long after the event has concluded. Maintaining the momentum gained from a live event requires more than mere wishful thinking. It all hinges on you recreating the actions of the event as best as possible when you’re back home. By implementing an action plan, speaking with your new connections, and continuing your education, you can extend the life of that post-event high. FOUR-STEP SYSTEM TO ENHANCING PRODUCTIVITY One more thing that will help maintain your drive and motivation is to create a system that helps you maintain a high level of productivity. Justin Kelsey shared a 4 step system he found recently that has been, in his own words, "absolutely life-changing on the amount of work I've been able to accomplish on a weekly basis." Check this out: "I've had so many friends and various connections from this group ask how I manage everything I'm working on, so figured I'd share with everyone: Step 1: Setting Priorities One of my best purchases this year was a giant 4x6' whiteboard for my office. Every Sunday, I start by filling out a list of my absolute must-complete priorities (i.e., objectives) for the week. Then, I apply XS, S, M, L to the amount of time it will take to complete. Personally, I've found that 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 hours, respectively, is the best measure of time to actually be able to achieve a deep state of work. Step 2: Mapping These Priorities To Time Blocks If you're not familiar with the idea of "time blocking," it's essentially mapping your specific to-dos to set times of the day. (And as someone who's diagnosed with ADD, it's changed my entire life.) For me, I've found it best to draw out a 3x5 matrix with each weekday across the top, as well as three parts of the day along the side. I break it into morning, afternoon, and evening, with one-hour breaks between each. The amount of time for each is up to you, though I've found that 4 hours allows me to get into the deepest state of work when needed for the "large" items. From there, I put all of my priorities onto sticky notes and start to place them in open zones. If you're using an actual whiteboard, make sure your "zones" are big enough to fit 4-6 stickies, if needed. When a zone reaches 4 hours it's then "closed." Step 3: Blocking The Time In My Calendar This is THE most important part of the entire process. Using the original matrix as a guide, I'll then create new 'Events' for each priority in Google Calendar, marking them as "Busy" so that my team/clients aren't able to book meetings with me during that time. There are paid apps (e.g., Planyway) that integrate with Trello and make this much easier, so I recommend looking into these for whatever platform you use. Key point here: PROTECT YOUR CALENDAR, or your priorities will never get completed. As your ventures/career starts to grow, your time will only get more and more precious. The sooner you're able to master this, the better off you'll be. While it's a bit scary having this much of your calendar blocked off, you'll be amazed by how this actually makes booking client/team meetings even easier than before, as you'll know exactly what times you have truly free. Step 4: Measure and Optimize As we were taught in consulting, no system is worth trying unless you have a way to measure your progress. At the end of each week, make sure you look back and reflect on what you were able to accomplish. Did a certain objective help you unlock more revenue than you were expecting? Double down next week. Did an objective you've been trying to repeat do nothing for you yet again? Cut it out next week. That's all, folks. Now, go give it a try. If properly and consistently implemented, the above system will result in life-changing impacts on whatever you're working towards. The entire process above only takes about an hour each week to do, yet cuts out countless hours of wasted productivity and unnecessary planning during the week.” WHAT’S HAPPENING AT CLICKFUNNELS THIS WEEK Chandler Woodward is the guest on The ClickFunnels Radio Podcast Thursday (10/5) Dave Woodward’s son Chandler joins Laura and Chris to pay homage to how his superhero dad guided and shaped him and share details of how he helps businesses acquire media such as Instagram accounts, newsletters, Facebook groups, email lists, and podcasts. TIPS FROM A 2CC WINNER Chris Funnell has had huge success with his agency and consulting business. It wasn’t easy, but having eventually reached the 2CC, he wanted to share his tips to help others reach 2CC: “I know a lot of you are launching funnels as we speak, and want to reach your goals this year. I have this group, Russell and ClickFunnels to thank for helping me achieve my goals in recent years. But I just wanted to hop in and inspire you with my own advice to help you on your way. Firstly, the thing that powered me forward with my first (eventual) 2CC funnel was the birth of my son. It was a huge motivation to make all the effort I could to be successful in business. So that was my “why”. That was my personal motivation. My family. I’m sure it’s similar for most of you. Because it can be incredibly lonely being an entrepreneur…. Sat at your laptop, in your house with nobody around, only yourself for company. Your why has to be powerful enough to get you motivated when there is nobody else to do it for you. Whether it is family or something else, make sure you have your personal “why” right there fuelling your journey. I’m sure that is the easy part for you to work out, too. Now, more importantly, for the continued success of your business, you will need to understand exactly who you are helping and why you are doing it. There is nothing more rewarding in the world than helping others. Even in daily life, just being helpful to each other as humans is something that makes us feel good. So if you can find out exactly who you can help, who you would love to help, and who would love your help – then you are well on your way to reaching your goals. You’re in the right place! Keep going. That’s it for today! We’re going to unpack all of our notes from the week and start getting them into the newsletters. We’ll see you Thursday.
