Ladies and gentlemen, let's talk about the drama unfolding on the political stage as we gear up for the September 10th presidential debate on ABC News. The spotlight is on Vice President Kamala Harris, who seems to be in a bit of a tailspin over the debate rules. After over a month of mixed signals from her campaign, she's back at it, voicing her discontent with the setup. But, folks, is this really about the debate or something more? Now, you might recall that [Harris previously declared the "debate about debates" over](. She took a strong stance, calling out former President Donald Trump, saying that if he didn't play by the original rules negotiated by Joe Biden, he'd be showing fear. Trump, after some initial grumbling, agreed to the terms. But here we are, less than two weeks out, and Harris has flipped the script, calling for changes and accusing Trump of being scared if he doesn't agree. Donald Trump is surrendering to his advisors who won't allow him to debate with a live microphone. If his own team doesn't have confidence in him, the American people definitely can't. We are running for President of the United States. Let's debate in a transparent way-with the... [( - Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) [August 31, 2024]( This back-and-forth feels like playground antics, doesn't it? On Saturday, Harris took to social media, once again voicing her displeasure-this time about the muted mic setup that ABC News has already locked in, and which the Trump campaign has agreed to. She's suggesting that Trump wants to change the rules and keep the mics open all night. But here's the kicker-Trump never asked for that. Sure, he mentioned that he didn't care either way, but he's always said the Harris campaign could push for rule changes if they wanted. So, what's the real story here? To then turn around and claim that Trump's stance somehow disqualifies him from being president? Well, that's just nonsensical. It's the kind of logic you'd expect from someone who's backed into a corner, not from a seasoned political leader. Harris argues she wants a "transparent debate" with open mics. Well, I've got news for her-Trump has already offered to debate her on Fox News with an audience and open mics. If she's as ready to rumble as she claims, what's stopping her? But let's be honest, folks. This isn't about transparency. It's about control. Harris isn't looking for a freewheeling, no-holds-barred debate. She's looking for a moment-one where she can drop a rehearsed line the second Trump so much as inhales. It's a strategy, plain and simple. Meanwhile, Trump is holding his ground. The rules were set in stone, negotiated by Joe Biden himself, and ABC News isn't budging. The Trump campaign signed on without a fuss, while Harris's team continues to flounder. If she doesn't show up, that's on her. The more she complains, the weaker she appears.
