What the heck is going on!? We've got some intense news coming out of Joint Base San Antonio-Lacklan

[Logo]( [Texas Air Force Base Attacked. Multiple Shooters] [Texas Air Force Base Attacked. Multiple Shooters]( What the heck is going on!? We've got some intense news coming out of Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland (JBSA) this weekend. In the early hours of Saturday morning, around 4:30 a.m., security forces at the JBSA-Chapman Training Annex found themselves under fire from at least one suspect in a drive-by shooting. Now, this wasn't just any random incident-it happened right at the main gate of the annex, which is a pretty critical spot. But here's the good news: the base security team was on high alert and immediately returned fire. Despite the scary situation, there were no reported injuries, which is definitely a relief. The exact details are still a bit murky. We don't know how many people were involved in the shooting or how many shots were fired, but what we do know is that the suspects never attempted to breach the gate. JBSA spokesperson Stefanie Antosh [reassured everyone that there was no active threat]( to the installation and that the security forces responded quickly to neutralize the situation. That's a big win for the folks in charge of keeping the base safe. San Antonio police were also on the scene to lend a hand with the investigation, but at this point, the motive behind the attack remains a mystery. What were these suspects thinking? It's hard to say, but you can bet the investigators are digging into every possible angle. Because of the incident, the entry gate at the Chapman Training Annex was closed for several hours. It wasn't until around 9:30 a.m. local time that it was reopened, which no doubt caused some inconvenience for those who needed access to the base. During the closure, drivers were redirected to an alternate gate on Ray Ellison Boulevard, just north of the primary gate. For those unfamiliar with JBSA, it's a massive military hub that includes Lackland, Randolph Air Force Base, Fort Sam Houston, and Camp Bullis. Lackland alone is home to more than 24,000 active duty members and 10,000 Department of Defense civilians. It's also the site of several key units, like the 37th Training Wing, the 149th Fighter Wing, and even the National Security Agency, to name just a few. With such a significant presence, the security forces' quick response on Saturday was crucial to ensuring the safety of everyone on the base. So, while the situation is still under investigation, the quick action by JBSA security forces kept things under control.
