It's time to increase the minimum wage

This bill is now in the hands of the Senate – and the Senate must do all they can to keep every part of the House-passed bill to deliver relief to the American people as soon as possible. I am encouraging my colleagues in the Senate to do EVERYTHING they can to ensure the minimum wage hike stays in the final package. The initial ruling from the parliamentarian should be overruled and the minimum wage provision should be included in the final bill. The minimum wage hasn’t been updated in more than a decade, so it’s no surprise that no American living anywhere can afford rent, food, and other essentials on a minimum wage of $7.25/hour. That’s why Democrats are fighting hard to put more money in people’s pockets – a paycheck bump will bring economic relief to millions of Americans. There’s no time to lose.
