It was a shocking escalation of violence at an otherwise peaceful event, and I was horrified to see these tactics used to clear a path for the President and his top officials to take part in a photo op. It was then revealed that Attorney General Bill Barr personally gave the order to forcibly clear protesters. I have long spoken out against AG Barr’s dangerous actions that put the President’s personal interests over those of the American people. Now, I’m calling for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the Attorney General for ordering the attack on peaceful protesters. But when Donald Trump wanted to silence Americans protesting police violence, he called Bill Barr to crack down on their Constitutional rights. [AG Barr has worked around the clock to cast aside justice and the rule of law in order to protect Donald Trump.
