This is alarming -- For 50 years, Roe v. Wade has protected a woman's constitutional right to an abortion. But this week, POLITICO reported that the Supreme Court is planning to overturn Roe. Today, I think about my grandmother, who grew up before women had the right to vote. I think about my mother, who served on the board of her local Planned Parenthood and watched from the frontlines as Roe v. Wade became law. I think about the generations of women who came before me to secure these fundamental rights, and the generations that will come after. And while this news is devastating, I know one thing is for sure: we cannot go backward. The time to act is now. We must codify Roe v. Wade and protect the right to an abortion.
