Reproductive rights are in jeopardy [Chuck Schumer]( Friend, this is alarming: The Supreme Court allowed the horrific Texas law that effectively bans abortion after six weeks go into effect. The conservative members of the Supreme Court are completely willing to put reproductive rights for all Americans at risk. And it doesn't stop there. This summer, the court will rule on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization -- a case concerning Mississippi's 15-week abortion ban. Their ruling could overturn the right to an abortion set by Roe v. Wade almost 50 years ago. [If the Supreme Court won't protect abortion rights, we must. Congress must uphold Americans' right to reproductive freedom by enshrining Roe v. Wade in law. Sign on right now if you agree.]( [SIGN ON →]( Roe v. Wade is about more than freedom. It's about economic justice, too. Compared to affluent Americans, people with low incomes are more than five times as likely to experience an unplanned pregnancy. Without access to abortion services in their state, they have no choice but to carry the pregnancy to term, further hindering their ability to move up the economic ladder, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. Until abortion rights are protected by federal law, we will continue to see anti-choice attacks like the ones passed in Mississippi, Texas, Missouri, Alabama, and other states -- and there will be nothing to stop them. [It's time to codify Roe v. Wade into law to protect reproductive rights for all Americans -- regardless of which state they live in. Add your name now if you agree.]( Sincerely, Chuck Schumer [SIGN ON →]( This email was sent to {EMAIL}. [Click here to unsubscribe](.
