Prevails in Legal Dispute With Former Alumni Association]( The long dispute stems from the Florida universityâs decision to end its relationship with the independent group and shift to an alumni association under its management. When the group refused, the university sued it for unauthorized use of BCU trademarks and logos. Under a new agreement, the group will be dissolved and turn over funds it has raised to the university. (WFTV) THE NAME GAME [Mississippi U. for Women Proposes to Rename as Wynbridge State U. of Mississippi]( The university, which has been coed since 1982, hopes a new name will help recruit male students. In January it proposed shifting to Mississippi Brightwell University, which drew such a negative response that the idea was dropped. State lawmakers would need to sign off on any name change. (WTVA) ATHLETICS [ESPN and College Football Playoff Agree to 6-Year Deal Worth $1.3 Billion Annually]( The deal would allow the television network to keep exclusive rights to the 12-team championship tournament through the 2031-32 season, according to anonymous sources cited by The Athletic.
