Resolves Inquiry Into Harassment of Transgender College Student]( After one of the department’s first investigations into anti-transgender harassment on campus, it found that Taft College, in California, had failed to respond as [required]( by [Title IX]( to repeated allegations that Taft employees, including a professor, had harassed a transgender student based on sex for more than a year. Among other things, Taft agreed to reimburse the student for counseling over the harassment’s impact. May, [condemned]( the anti-Israel post, which said “zionist journalists who spread propaganda & misiniformation ... should fear us.” The post, which has since been deleted, added that “they have houses w addresses, kids in school,” and included knife, ax, and blood emoji. May said the “revolting” post was “antithetical” to Davis’s values and the faculty member would face an investigation into harassment, discrimination, and misconduct in light of the First Amendment. Students Are Arrested After Joking About Bombing Campus Building]( Two undergraduates were detained after they threatened to “blow up” the Al McGuire Center during a sports event on October 6, the day before Hamas attacked Israel. According to the university police, one student wore Middle Eastern dress and made threats to people in the crowd, while another student filmed their reactions for a YouTube video.
