(CNN) TENURE SHIFT [New College of Florida Faculty Members Were Reportedly Told to Stop Seeking Tenure]( According to the president of the faculty union, the directive came from the college’s interim president. New College has grabbed headlines in recent months as Florida Republicans aim to remake the institution as a “Hillsdale of the South.” (Tampa Bay Times) LEGAL ACTION [Miami U. Faces Wrongful-Death Lawsuit From Wife of Ex-Administrator]( A former assistant provost at the Ohio institution died by suicide two years ago. His widow alleges that a heavy workload and poor treatment from a supervisor contributed to his death. (The Miami Student) TRANSGENDER ATHLETES [Former College Athlete Calls Out Protesters After San Francisco State U. Event]( Riley Gaines was invited by a university student group to speak about her opposition to transgender athletes’ participation in women’s sports. After the event, Gaines said she was followed by a crowd of disruptive protesters. The campus police department says no one has been arrested in connection with the event.
