Urges Colleges to Enroll Eligible Students in Federal Food Benefits]( The department said colleges should reach out to students who qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and help them sign up for it before a pandemic-era expansion of the program expires in the coming weeks. (Higher Ed Dive) STATE SPENDING [Georgia General Assembly Passes Budget With Smaller Cuts to University System]( The budget, which has passed both legislative chambers and now heads to the governor, would reduce appropriations to the system by $66 million, down from the more than $100 million in cuts that appeared in an earlier version of the legislation. (The Augusta Chronicle) ACQUISITIONS [Lindenwood Education System Acquires Dorsey College]( The system, the nonprofit parent of Lindenwood University, in Missouri, will now also be the parent of Dorsey, a nationally accredited institution focused on career training in health care and other fields. Both the university and the college will operate as separate institutions.
