The bakery [won the award]( after [claiming in a lawsuit]( that the college had defamed it when students accused it of racism. The bakery at first won $44 million, but a judge reduced the amount; the current total includes interest. A factor in the verdict was that as a health-care provider and research institution, the college, which is not part of Baylor University, could not close. (Higher Ed Dive) STUDENT SAFETY [U. of Kentucky to Investigate Shooting at Fraternity Member’s Home That Injured 11]( The incident took place at a house party connected to the Theta Chi fraternity, but the shooter is believed not to be connected with the frat. None of the 11 students suffered life-threatening injuries, and three people were arrested. (Lexington Herald-Leader) CAMPUS SAFETY [Delaware State U. Says 2 Students Were Among Those Shot on Campus Last Weekend]( University officials said four people in all were injured when a nonstudent fired into a crowd near the campus’s basketball courts on Saturday. The DSU police chief cited robbery as a possible motive.
