They're spending a TON of money in a seat with one media market — and doesn’t even include their spending on digital or streaming ads. [U.S. Senator Chris Murphy] ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ We just got an important update about the CT-05 race. The National Republican Campaign Committee just launched new digital attack ads against Jahana Hayes. She’s one of only 10 House Democrats being attacked right now — a clear indication of how important and competitive this race is. [Please split an urgent donation between Jahana Hayes’ re-election and Chris Murphy’s re-election today. It’s critical we have the resources to fight back and keep Connecticut blue.]( [DONATE]( Friends - I have a personal favor to ask of you today. My good friend Rep. Jahana Hayes is up for re-election in Connecticut’s 5th — my old district, and I just found out that the NRCC and CLF, House Republicans’ super PAC, booked $2.4 million in the Hartford media market to spend against her this fall. That’s a TON of money in a seat with one media market — and doesn’t even include their spending on digital or streaming ads. There are very few districts where Republicans are playing offense, but it’s clear they see beating Jahana as a critical step toward holding the House Majority. [Will you please split a $5 donation between Jahana Hayes’ re-election and my re-election today to help us both win in November?]( If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your split contribution between Jahana Hayes and Chris Murphy instantly. She grew up in Waterbury’s public housing, raised by her grandmother as her mom struggled with addiction. Jahana became a teenage mother at age 17 and thought about giving up. But she didn’t. She went back to school, became a game-changing teacher, and amazingly, in 2016, President Obama awarded her the National Teacher of the Year. The thing about Jahana is that she didn’t stop there. She saw an opportunity in 2018 to do even more for our state by running for Congress. She won a tough race that year and became the first Black woman to represent Connecticut in Congress. Since she came to Congress, she’s proven herself to be an invaluable member of the Connecticut delegation — a critical voice in passing the first gun safety legislation in 30 years, the Inflation Reduction Act, a massive infrastructure bill, and so much more. We are all better off because of her leadership and work in Congress. But in 2022, CT-5 was the 8th closest race in the country with a 0.79% margin of victory. So now we must have her back to ensure she wins and Democrats take back the House majority. [Please, split a $5 donation between Jahana’s re-election and my re-election today.
