Join us in supporting Chicago's vibrant arts and culture scene Happy Friday Reader! Nothing embodies the essence of Chicago quite like our local arts scene—it's homegrown, handcrafted, and representative of our city. If you have ever felt the raw emotion and psychic energy of a live performance, I think you know what I mean. The Reader has always made it our mission to deliver you coverage of all different forms of art and culture. We are committed to representing all of the unique scenes that arise when people gather in a physical space, sharing the experience of live performers crafting something in real time. [GET YOUR PRINT]( [As a nonprofit, member support is what will allow us to provide these amazing scenes and artists with a platform to amplify their impact—just like the Reader did for Tony Fitzpatrick all the way back in the 90s. Â]( Tony’s very first paid gig as an artist was for the Reader. Today, he’s an internationally known artist. As part of our Arts and Culture membership drive, he produced a series of six limited-edition, signed prints, inspired by iconic Chicago locations. Support from members is what will usher us into a future where we can continue the discussions about the crucial role played by grassroots arts organizations in shaping Chicago's cultural landscape. Chicago artists are not only creating ripples within our communities, they are fundamentally contributing to the very essence of our culture. Investing in arts coverage is a sign of faith in our community. We live in a quick-take, snap-judgment world, and the arts often ask us to slow down and consider more sides, or even learn to be comfortable with ambiguity and mystery. Today, that’s more important than ever. . [With your support, we can continue to bring diverse perspectives and unique voices to you.]( You have two days left to become a member and receive your choice of one of six, limited-edition, signed prints from legendary Chicago artist Tony Fitzpatrick. We are almost at our goal of welcoming 200 new members in our program!
