Challenges to our republic are rampant, the democratic values that make up the very fabric of our nation under assault and at risk of unraveling. From the Civil War to the Great Depression, from the First and Second World Wars to the COVID-19 pandemic, these crises have challenged us to live up to the essential promise of our nation, preserving a democratic system of government that respects the rights and addresses the needs of all its citizens. Challenges to our republic are rampant, the democratic values that make up the very fabric of our nation under assault and at risk of unraveling. It’s never been more important to safeguard our fragile democracy: as Benjamin Franklin so wisely put it, "A Republic, if you can keep it." We’re on the cusp of a momentous point in history. This November’s election is our chance to fortify our democracy and Constitutional rights by electing leaders who understand our history and envision a better and brighter future for us all. We must expand our Senate majority, and one of our best chances to do that is to elect a true trailblazer in North Carolina: Cheri Beasley. She’s already been a history maker as the first Black woman to serve as Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, where she proved to be a relentless fighter for justice and the people of North Carolina. Now we have the chance to elect her as North Carolina’s first Black Senator and only the third Black woman to ever serve in the U.S. Senate. But history doesn’t happen by itself. We each have a role to play, so I am personally asking you: [Will you please make a $3 donation to Cheri Beasley’s historic campaign for U.S. Senate in North Carolina? She’s running a truly people-powered campaign, and she needs all of us to get into the arena with her.]( If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly: [Donate $3]( [Donate $10]( [Donate $20.22]( [Donate $50]( [Donate $100]( [Other Amount]( Cheri will be a voice for all of us. She will stand up against those who threaten what we’ve believed to be our basic—but are now so tenuous—rights and freedoms. - Ken Burns Paid For By Cheri Beasley for North Carolina Cheri Beasley for North Carolina PO Box 28778 Raleigh, NC 27611 This email was sent to [{EMAIL}](#).
