Here's what I'm seeing regarding email marketing and copywriting this week. This edition is full of tips and resources. So without further ado, let's dive in:     Email Campaign Idea - The Retail Email: - Email Examples: - [The Retail Email Example 1]( - [The Retail Email Example 2](  - Purpose/Context of Email: Retail is technically still everyone's favorite way to buy things. If you're not in retail, that should be the goal of a DTC brand. If you ARE in retail, here's how you can announce it. Obviously, email doesn't track retail revenue, but these emails will directly make your P&L look good. [Example 1]( is from Bravo Sierra. I've used this brand as an example a few times, and they're one of my faves. Their whole thing is that it's founded by veterans, and their audience has a lot of veterans and active service members within it. This angle is great for them, because they've found a way to tie in their brand identity to a subject that is seemingly unrelated. They also have a link to go online at Walmart, which I love. People will probably get better prices and better shipping rates if they don't wanna go direct in-store. [Example 2]( is from Jinx. Such a simple email that is so easily digestible. If you can get away with it, try and make your emails more minimalistic like this. It looks clean. You don't need a 3-page email to get a point across like this. Their CTA here was "find a store", which is more what we tend to do. Direct people to find a location for where they can go pick it up. That's where your margin is. Also, I love that they customized their unsubscribe text. Anyone can do that, and it adds such a nice touch. - Segment(s): - Your Engaged Subscriber Segment  - Subject Line Ideas: - Find us in Walmart! - {brand} in aisle 8. - Spot us in-store!  - Preview Text Ideas: - We're just an aisle away. - Or maybe aisle 7... - Can you find us?     Sponsor of the Week: The most common questions I receive from fellow founders revolve around email marketing, copywriting, and hiring. I have TONS of content available on email marketing and copywriting, so I want to quickly touch on the hiring piece. TL;DR: I hire all my freelance marketers on [MarketerHire.]( At my agency, we have 100+ employees, which is great on the one hand and hectic on the other. While at the couple of businesses I own outside my agency, everyone is a freelancer. Why? A few reasons I prefer to hire freelancers: 1. Way easier to get started 2. Way easier to part ways if it's not the right fit 3. Way more flexible (can easily adjust hours up or down as you go) 4. Way less expensive (I don't have to pay for all the other expenses that come with having employees) 5. Insanely large talent pool of top-tier candidates And the list goes on... I hire all of my freelance marketers from [MarketerHire.]( They make it insanely easy to connect with pre-vetted marketers quickly. I think of them as the Uber for hiring. It couldn't be any easier this way. [Check them out here.](     Podcast Episode: In this episode, Chase Dimond and Cardinal Mason discuss:  - Baby Marketer Stories - Businesses High Schoolers Can Start - How to Run a Good Employee Meetup  [Check out this episode here.](     ChatGPT-4 Marketing Prompt: Generate [number] customer retention strategies that can increase customer loyalty and drive repeat sales for our agency's clients.  Context:  Client industry — [client industry here] Target audience — [client's target audience here] Current customer retention efforts — [describe current customer retention efforts here]  Inspiration:  "[customer retention strategy one]" "[customer retention strategy two]" "[customer retention strategy three]"  Retention guidelines:  "[your retention guidelines here]"     Copywriting Resource #1 of the Week: Here’s a table with 7 techniques for crafting powerful headlines:       Copywriting Resource #2 of the Week: Here’s a table with the key components of direct response copywriting:       Hire Freelance Marketers: My go-to place for finding best-in-class, pre-vetted freelance marketers is [MarketerHire.](  I used to be a marketing freelancer for hire on the platform, and have since hired some amazing freelance marketers through them.  I'm such a big fan that I recently became a brand ambassador for them.  Hire your next freelance marketer with [MarketerHire.](     Hire Freelance Copywriters: If you own a business and you’re looking to hire a copywriter: My team at Copy MBA will connect you with one of our dozen-plus, highly trained, and vetted copywriters for FREE to help you grow your business.
