Welcome to Edition 54 of Alex In My Inbox. Alex In My Inbox is a weekly copywriting series where I share interesting, actionable, and hilarious copywriting tips from "Alex." Alex is an anonymous copywriter who shares these tips with me so I can share them with you.
Before we dive into this week's edition, if you're thinking through your marketing plans, I've got a resource for you. My clients and I have been using them to [hire amazing freelance marketing talent.]( The best part is they do the heavy lifting for you. No job postings, no interviews, and no headache. All you need to do is describe your project, and they'll help you determine the ideal marketer and other important details around budget, timeline, etc. You can literally begin connecting with top freelance marketers in as little as 48 hours. From what I've seen, most people use them to find email, content, growth, paid search, and paid social marketers. I highly recommend [chatting with them]( about your marketing needs. sponsored Today, Alex has an email for us about something you need to remember when youâre playing the game of business. Every freelancer and new entrepreneur needs to see this. Letâs get into it. Dear Chase, This will not be a long email, but itâll be one of the most important things that we tell your audience. This is such a simple concept, but we forget it all the time. Both new and seasoned entrepreneurs struggle with this. I struggle with this. Maybe you do, too. But once you understand it, you actually begin to enjoy what youâre doing in your day-to-day no matter what. I want you to internalize this as much as you can. Donât just read these words. Iâm begging you to actually sit and reflect on what this means for YOU, so that you can actually get everything out of it. This is not hustle p*rn. This is real life stuff that you need to take into account. *Clears throat* Ready? Business is supposed to be hard. REALLY hard. Business, in general, is not meant to be a straight line from $0 in your bank account to $1M a year in profit. Itâs supposed to be hard. Itâs supposed to test you. Itâs supposed to make you earn the reality you want to live in. But thatâs what makes it fun. The reason we call business a âgameâ is because itâs supposed to challenge you. Itâs supposed to leave you stuck with hard questions that you donât immediately know the answers to. If you really, really wanna be successful, you will figure it out. And when you solve these problems, you will feel a high that youâve never felt before. The feeling of getting a stuck business unstuck is something that you need to feel to really understand what itâs like. Having a business go from $0-10k a month with no hiccups is cool. But having a business go from $10-300k a month after really grinding, losing money, not sleeping, not eating, and wanting to pull your hair out every day is much better. Business is supposed to be hard. LIFE is supposed to be hard. Life is meant to weed out the weak. Survival of the fittest. If youâre not ready for that, youâre not ready to make $3 million a year sipping pina coladas on a yacht in Croatia. Sorry, not sorry. If youâre struggling right now to send out 10 cold emails a day because itâs too hard, freelancing isnât for you. If youâre too tired at the end of your workday to try and get a client, freelancing isnât for you. Not trying to be harsh. Just reminding you that you deserve absolutely nothing until youâve done the work. And when you do the work, fight through bad days, and do hard things, you will end up on top. Itâs not about whoâs smartest or most experienced. Itâs about whoâs willing to endure hard times before you get showered in dollar bills every month. Simple as. Anything to add, Chase? Yours truly, Alex Sent from my MegaPhone I hope you enjoyed this week's Alex In My Inbox edition.
