I'm teeing these campaigns up for you ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Hey Friend, Happy Thursday! Before we get into today's content, I wanted to let you know about a [free webinar]( I'm hosting in 2 weeks. We'll be sharing 3 easy ways to get more from your existing audience without spending a dime or hiring anybody new. We'll cover building all the flows, maximizing your email capture, and driving 3 to 5 times more abandoned cart revenue. [Register for free here.]( Now onto today's content. By now, you should have your Halloween costume picked out. I know what mine's gonna be. Reply to this email and let me know what you're dressing up as. I have not one, but two Halloween campaign ideas for you to prepare with this week. Let’s jump in. Campaign Idea 1 - The Halloween Email: - Email Examples: - [The Halloween Email Example 1]( - [The Halloween Email Example 2]( - Purpose/Context of Email: This is a Halloween email that doesn't offer a sale, but just gives your audience something to consume before or on Halloween. It's a fun email that can be used to drive engagement. Not everyone wants to do a sale for Halloween, so this is a great alternative. If you're looking to avoid doing any sales before BFCM, definitely send an email like this. [Example 1]( is from CROSSNET. This was an amazing email they sent in 2020 for Halloween that didn't involve a sale. They established their brand voice/humor by personifying their product and making it funny. "How to dress up your hero product" is a great way to make people laugh and drive engagement. The only thing I would have done differently here is to encourage people to reply with their own ideas for CROSSNET Halloween costumes. This was great. [Example 2]( is from Kitchen Souffle. Most brands would just plug the products they have in these emails and make it about them, but this brand makes it about the audience by giving them recipes to try over the holidays. This is selfless and creative, and I think everyone should try something like this. Creating demand for your products without directly plugging your products is a cool way to drive sales. - Segment(s): - Your Engaged Subscriber Segment - Subject Line Ideas: - What's your costume, (firstname)? - Happy Halloween! 🎃 - Top 3 things to do this Halloween - Preview Text Ideas: - We're being a ghost AGAIN. - You look sooooo scary. - It's not ding dong ditch. Campaign Idea 2 - The Halloween Sale Email: - Email Examples: - [The Halloween Sale Email Example 1]( - [The Halloween Sale Email Example 2]( - Purpose/Context of Email: This is for the brands that DO prefer to do sales for Halloween. These are two really funny emails that have great concepts, and you can totally steal if you want. A percentage off sale is great, but the communication in these emails is what'll make them even better. [Example 1]( is from BALLS. This email is really funny if you know the context. In the email prior to this, BALLS told a scary story that teased the upcoming sale. It was really interesting. You can read that [HERE](. In this email, they wrapped up the story in a nice bow, and offered the Halloween sale @ 15% off. This was well done and delivered expertly. [Example 2]( is from The Dude's Threads. This email is another simple sale, but it was still really funny. The body copy painted a really funny picture of you being hungover, leaning into the rowdy culture that comes with this brand. Even though this brand only sells t-shirts, they always find a way to make their emails hilarious and entertaining. Study them to figure out how to do the same with your brand. - Segment(s): - Your engaged segment - Subject Line Idea: - Your Halloween sale is here! - Save X for Halloween! - A scary sale is here. - Preview Text Idea: - Save X% today. - This weekend only! - Jumpscare inside. And that's it, folks! Hopefully, you found some value in these campaigns! Below are a few other newsletters I've been enjoying. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
