It’s common. If you’re a writer, you are guaranteed going to have to deal with this a couple times a year, if not once a month. When this happens, there is a way to keep up your cadence without being creative. And even if you don’t have writer’s block, these ideas can convert no matter what. It’s not complicated. It just requires a little bit of research. Most businesses are missing a huge piece of the equation and they don’t even know it. Their marketing messaging is weak because they get cocky. They think they know what their customers want, and some customers DO want what they’re talking about. But 90% of the time they’re wrong. The best thing I do for clients is talk to their customers, or people in their niche, and ask questions about the issues that they ACTUALLY have so that I can write copy around each point. What is their dream outcome? How do they wanna get there? What is their current situation? What drives them? What are the things that are standing in their way to change it? A good example is the fact that a lot of the gurus that I write for will say “do you wanna quit your 9-5?” in their copy. And then when I speak to their market, most of these people don’t actually have 9-5s. They’re in school, they have part-time jobs, etc. This messaging doesn’t help them in any way. By tweaking the “9-5” messaging to “do you wanna make $10k a month before you’re even old enough to have a 9-5?”, we get WAY more conversions. People respond “yes” in their heads when they read that. It makes it a way more powerful offer and way more tailored to them. There are DOZENS of different messaging tweaks you can make that you will learn by talking to your market. Most of what you think they want is wrong. The only way you’ll know is by having that conversation. One 30-minute phone call will mean you have email ideas for the rest of your life. Make sense? Yours truly, Alex. Sent from my Grok (fun mode)     I hope you enjoyed this week's Alex In My Inbox edition. Have a great weekend, Chase    P.S. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
