Hi {NAME}, It's your boy Ngo. Yesterday you received two similar emails from me. I messed up. I wrote the email last week and scheduled it. But after coming back from T&C, I wanted to improve the email by adding in more content. I sent out the updated email, and I forgot to cancel the previous one that was scheduled. Sorry about that because I understand your inbox is a sacred place. Two quick lessons: 1. If you mess up, just man up and admit it. I'm not gonna blame a software glitch or lie and say it was an employee. That's weaksauce. 2. I updated my checklist so it doesn't happen again. How about I share some cool stuff to make up for it? Don't be Obsessed with Low CPC's Someone asked me a question about lowering their cost per click. I get this question all the time. What alarmed me is they didn't want to use any "interest targeting" because it would increase their CPC. Major red flag. The goal of a campaign shouldn't be a low CPC, it should be to maximize your PROFIT. A LOW cpc is only one lever. Imagine you're running a steak house. You're interested in buying cheaper steaks to increase your profit margins. You switch suppliers and start selling cheaper steaks. Your profit margins increase because you lowered your costs! But the customers notice the lower quality. They leave horrible reviews on Yelp and Tripadvisor. Your loyal customers don't come back anymore. You achieved your goal of lowering your cost, but you hurt your long term goals of profit and repeat customers. "Congratulations, you played yourself" - DJ Khaled Does this make sense? Sometimes the clicks are expensive for a reason. It's because you're competing for premium quality traffic that will convert better. So don't focus on lowering your CPC for the sake of it. See how it affects everything in your formula. Back to the original question of what affects your cost per click? * Your Ad CTR's * The supply / demand of the traffic * The placements / GEOs you want. * Quality / relevancy score / ad feedback * Account history So pick a lever and experiment. Are You Trimming Your Rose Buds? I heard an amazing analogy the other day. Life naturally gets busier and busier. People make the mistake in thinking they can do EVERYTHING. They wanna get bigger and bigger like a tree. Instead, you should think of your life like a Rose bush. The rose bush has a LIMIT on how large it can grow. On these Rose bushes are different rose buds. But the bush can only SUPPORT a limited amount of them. You have to CUT the weaker rose buds to make room for the stronger, more beautiful ones. How does this relate to you? * The rose bush has a limit on how big it can grow. You have a limit on your time. * The rose bush can't support every single rose bud just like how you can't support every single idea / opportunity. You need to KILL the weak and even good ideas, so you can make room for the great ones. Everyone thinks that being successful is about having great ideas. False. Your execution is more important than your ideas. It's important for you to say NO to the good ideas, so that you can say YES to the great ideas. The most successful people in the world are the ones that can laser focus. And back to the concept of finite time. Yes we all technically have 24 hours of time. But lets think about this... * My friend spends 2 hours a day commuting back and forth to work. I work at home. * Affiliate X spent 3 hours yesterday uploading ads himself. My media buyers did that. * The old me would spend 5 hours planning / booking / making decisions for this trip to Peru. I spent 5 minutes giving instructions, and my executive assistant planned everything. I have the same 24 hours as everyone else, but I'm spending those hours on higher leverage activities. Time is more valuable to me than money. The Status of the Noobie FastTrack I'm proud of what I built with my blog, but it's not newbie friendly. I was inspired last year when I wanted to learn more about real estate. I went to different real estate blogs and I was overwhelmed with the amount of information available. I was so confused by the terms. I had no idea where to start and wanted a step by step guide for a complete newbie. It then hit me that people brand new to affiliate marketing, probably feel the same level of overwhelm. So I was inspired a year ago to help newbies. I spent 3 months and around $30k+ to create a newbie course for affiliate marketing. * Then I gave it away for free. (Because I love you) * Then I shut it down for a year. Yes, some of my decision making is weird. I asked who would be interested in seeing it again and my inbox got flooded with hundreds of emails. We just finished planning for Quarter 2, and I'm excited to announce that... The Newbie FastTrack will be coming back We need some time to update and improve it. You know I have high standards.
