Hi {NAME}, One car ride. Thatâs all it would take to explain how far GOAL, our local partner in Sierra Leone, is willing to go for clean water. The rural dirt roads in Sierra Leoneâs Kenema District are some of the bumpiest Iâve experienced. (And as a Water Programs Manager for charity: water, Iâve experienced a lot of bumpy roads.) Potholes stretch nearly as wide as the road, and the ruts are well-worn. I often find myself with one hand on the seat and the other gripping the overhead handle just for a sense of stability. But itâs not enough to stop GOAL. If people need clean water, GOAL finds a way to reach them. During my last visit to Sierra Leone, I met with District Officials who agreed: They can always count on GOAL to go the extra mile. Literally. This level of commitment and determination is one of my favorite things about this partner. I couldnât be more excited for you to support their hard work.
