Exercise. In the early stages of the lockdown, we heard from a lot of people who were struggling to stay active. Gyms were closed, sports were canceled, and in some places, even hiking and walking trails were off limits. Even as we begin to reopen, it can still be challenging to find the time and space to exercise and stay active -- with many folks balancing working from home will full-time parenting (and teaching). Plus, many people are reluctant to return to the gym at this stage in the game. Exercise isn’t just important for our physical health; it’s also critical for our mental health—especially during this pandemic. This was highlighted in a study just published that found that people who exercised regularly during the early stages of COVID-19 were less likely to be depressed and were more resilient than those who didn’t exercise. With this in mind, here is quick tip for getting regular exercise as we move into the next stages of this crisis. #1: Make it a priority If we don’t make exercise a priority, it won’t happen. Take time (on Sunday, for example) to schedule your exercise -- workouts, walks, etc. -- for the entire week. Book the sessions just like you would any other important appointment. This makes it far more likely that you’ll follow through with it, because I’ve already carved out the time. To staying active, Change That Up ------------------------ BONUS - Anti-Aging Workout. Take this short, 45-second quiz, to uncover the connection between your diet, exercise, and aging... Everyone knows exercise is the key to staying young and warding off disease. But can the wrong type of exercise actually age you faster and make you more vulnerable to heart disease, diabetes and cancer? Turns out, some exercises can actually accelerate how fast you appear to be aging, while ruining your health… while others can help you look and feel younger every day. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
