Please excuse us if this comes across blunt: We are concerned about you. While your health, wellness and best interests are always our priority, now more than ever, they are top of mind based on the findings of a recently-released Harris Poll. The survey, which asked 1,055 US adults aged 18 and older about their feelings and perceptions of our current unsettling times, revealed the following… - 2 in 3 Americans (68%) feel like everything is out of their control right now. - More than half (56%) feel like they’re balancing more now than ever before. - Two in five (41%) are most concerned about experiencing increased feelings of anxiousness. - Four in ten Americans also reported feeling lonelier than ever. - Four out of five (84%) said that if confinement and social distancing continues, they believe it will have a major impact on their mental health. - 71% of Americans feel stressed about their loved ones’ health, while 61% of respondents cited concerns about their own health. - More Americans expressed worries about health than about their finances (33%) or their jobs (22%). Cleary, the vast majority of us are experiencing heightened feelings of concern, stress, anxiousness, uncertainty and worry. And for some of us, the feelings of consternation and uneasiness may be higher than ever before. The good news, though, is that there are many easily-accessible tools that can help, like… - Checking in with loved ones via phone calls and video chats - Exercising regularly - Limiting news consumption and time on social media - Performing random acts of kindness - Expressing gratitude and hope - Looking forward to the future (create a post-lockdown list, for example) And as always, getting enough sleep and eating a healthy diet are paramount components of a complete stress management regimen. Remember, we are in this together. We are here for you. Let us know how we can help you and if there is a topic you would like us to cover in the near future. Simply email us back with your suggestion. Here’s to your health and safety.
