Hey , Today I have a mix of health hacks, life-changing reads, and fitness insights for you. 1. FAVORITE FIND OF THE WEEK: As you may have heard via this week’s Lifer Update on the podcast, I found myself a bit under the weather. And everyone suggested I try [Oscillococcinum]() because supposedly it cuts flu time in half. Now, I've done my research, and, truth be told, there's no scientific evidence backing these claims. But personally, I've seen it work wonders. While my husband Bret, who didn't take it, was sick for two weeks, I bounced back in just three days!! Oscillococcinum is tough to find during flu season (it’s like the old days of trying to buy in-demand Beanie Babies and Cabbage Patch dolls). If you can't get your hands on it, there's always the old-school remedy of Vernors ginger ale, saltines, and a dab of Vick's Vapor Rub. Sometimes, it's these simple, nostalgic solutions that do the trick. 2. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: I recently started listening to an audiobook that's creating quite a buzz: "[The Courage to Be Disliked](". I heard about it through YouTuber Vanessa Lau, who found it life-changing enough to quit YouTube and reassess her entire identity! She felt disconnected from the person she was portraying to the world, and apparently this book played a pivotal role in her transformation. Intrigued by Vanessa’s story and the avalanche of positive reviews, I decided to give it a listen. I'm just on the first chapter, so I can't fully endorse it yet, but with so many five-star reviews, it seems promising. Let's explore this journey together and see if it lives up to the hype! 3. LET'S TALK ABOUT IT: In [today’s episode of The Chalene Show](=), I discuss the power of strength training and its impact on our health, especially as we age. I share how shifting my focus from excessive cardio to strength training helped improve my overall well-being, highlighting the importance of building muscle for long-term health benefits. This change in routine can lead to not just a stronger physique but also a better understanding of what our bodies need to stay healthy and fit as we grow older. It's crucial to find a balance in our fitness routines that aligns with our personal goals and lifestyle. Join me in exploring how strength training can be a game-changer in your fitness journey and overall health. And BTW - I want to talk about this with you, like, seriously.
