Hey Boo! We lost 9% without really trying. I know… I used to "hate" those people, too. By "we," I mean me and my husband, Bret. [image]() To be clear - it wasn't overnight. In fact, I'm not really sure how long it took because I NEVER get on a scale, and I rarely have my body fat tested. But before I go further… I really hate that there's so much emphasis on weight when it comes to health - which is why I personally prefer to focus on many other "non-scale" measures of health, only one of which includes body fat. Now, if you're feeling great, getting exceptional sleep, having high energy, and happy with how your clothes fit - YOU'RE WINNING! Don't change a thing. But if you're feeling a little extra fluff and just aren't willing to count another calorie, white knuckle, another diet, or sweat through an exercise program - let me tell you how this happened. Many of you know my story of being in the consumer fitness industry. If not, [here's why I left](). Bottom line - what I was doing needed to be more sustainable and healthy. It was stressful. It destroyed my metabolism. Frankly, my pursuit to look like a "fitness expert" took a toll on me. Fast forward ten years later. After having our body fat tested this week, Bret and I realized we'd dropped considerable pounds and fat in the last six months. (Him 5% and me 9% – while in menopause, mind you!). We did that without torturous hours of exercise or deprivation. We did it while living our best life and increasing our emotional intimacy. We did it while still eating French fries. We did it without even trying. I think that's a piece of the puzzle, but today's YouTube goes into the specifics… [image]() Today, I have a healthy relationship with diet and exercise. I'm not in a constant battle with my body. As you know, I prefer zone 2 cardio, and I prioritize strength training above all else. That's been going on for a few years. But in the last 6 months, we tweaked two tiny habits that I believe made all the difference. I can't say what it was for Bret. But for me, I think the biggest factor is that I simply stopped thinking of my body as the enemy. I also started taking two days to rest my muscles per week. I might walk, or roller skate, but I actually allow my body to recover. I've literally gone back to basics, and I love it! If you want to peek at my workouts, [click here](. [image]() So let me ask you… Are you stressing, over-thinking, over-training, under-eating or over-eating? Would you be willing to release your old ways of thinking, tweak a few habits and just see what happens? Okay, lastly, do me a favor.
