Hey , 1. FAVORITE FIND OF THE WEEK: Let me tell you the [nugget ice maker]() has quickly become one of my favorite kitchen gadgets. I initially didn’t think ice was that big of a deal, but I’m currently on a sassy evening mocktail kick, so this fancy ice maker is chef’s kiss! 👌 There’s just something about that restaurant-quality nugget ice that elevates any cold beverage. It’s super quiet, works quickly, and is compact enough to sit on your countertop or store away when not in use. For me anyway, the ritual of a fancy beverage came to signify the completion of a big project, a stressful day, or transitioning into a sexy date night. At first, I thought I would desperately miss the relaxing effects of my favorite adult beverage. I’m on Day 30 of alcohol-free living and it didn’t take me long to realize that what I craved was the ritual of making a drink. Instead of dumping the ritual, I knew I needed something I really looked forward to. Like something that felt like a special treat. I’ve become a mocktail mixologist, making it easy to justify a countertop ice maker, especially considering the coin we’re saving not ordering that expensive bottle of Champagne. Here’s my latest fav: Spicy Ginger Girl - 1 part Reeds Zero Sugar Ginger Beer - 1 part sparkling elderberry apple cider vinegar - 1 squeeze of a lime - 2 small jalapeños, sliced - Sliced cucumber - Tajin for glass rim I start with a tall cute glass, rub the lime around then roll in tajin. Add the ice, plus a few cucumber and jalapeño slices. Next add 1 part zero-sugar ginger beer, 1 part sparkling apple cider vinegar, and fresh lime juice. [Nugget ice]() just elevates the experience, making every sip of your fancy bev feel like a treat. If you don’t want another thing on your counter, you can make several pounds of ice in advance and store it in the freezer. 2. WHAT I'M WATCHING: The Olympics are over (no we’re not going to talk about break dancing) but you really must see [Simone Biles Rising on N e t f l i x](. This documentary dives deep into her journey like never before. We all know she’s the GOAT of gymnastics, but this goes beyond the flips and medals. It explores her incredible challenges, from battling struggles with mental health, and pressure from the world’s spotlight to be the best, to overcoming a condition that made gymnastics incredibly dangerous. You will be in awe of her resilience, determination, love of family, and humble, adorable personality. This isn’t just a sports documentary; it’s a powerful testament to what it means to rise above adversity. What really stood out to me were the moments where Simone opened up about her mental health, especially the immense pressure she’s under and the trauma she experienced at the hands of convicted predator, Larry Nassar. It’s so rare to see someone at the top be so vulnerable, and it made me respect her even more. The documentary also gives us a glimpse into her support system—her family, her coaches, and her teammates—who’ve been there through it all. If you’re looking for something inspiring and real, this is it. Trust me, after watching [Simone Biles Rising](), you’ll see her as a world-class athlete and a true warrior. 3. LET'S TALK ABOUT IT: [This week on The Chalene Show](=), I sat down with Bret to dive deep into the unspoken rules that have kept our relationship strong for over 25 years. We got real about the challenges we’ve faced, from navigating our differences in communication styles to balancing our busy lives. We also shared some of the key principles that have helped us maintain respect, trust, and intimacy over the years. Whether you’re in a relationship or just curious about what makes one work, this episode is packed with honest insights and practical advice that anyone can apply. One of the biggest takeaways from our conversation is the importance of establishing clear boundaries and understanding each other’s needs. Bret and I talked about how we’ve learned to support each other through thick and thin, even when it’s not easy. We also touched on the power of forgiveness and the role it plays in keeping a relationship healthy and resilient.
