I am writing to you today because of a few troubling matters [Chabad.org]( By the Grace of G‑d 16 Teves 5784 - December 28, 2023 Dear Friend, I am writing to you because of a few matters of concern that I am hoping you can help with. For starters, Israel is at war, and Jews all over are dealing with anti-Semitism in their communities. They’re flocking to us in droves — and we must help them! In challenging times like this, the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory, taught that people’s souls pierce through the doldrum exterior of 'regular' life and develop an intense yearning and thirst to connect with their people, with their heritage, and with G-d Himself. The Rebbe charged us all with the personal and collective responsibility to help others discover the timeless energy and beauty they seek — through studying Torah, practicing tangible mitzvot (especially intentional acts of kindness to others), and just being there for them. Additionally, by fortifying one another spiritually, we help increase the physical security and tranquility of all our brothers and sisters in the holy land and worldwide. Since Simchat Torah (Oct. 7) countless many have turned to us and, thank G-d we’ve indeed been able to help. But knowing that we could be even more effective if we'd only have greater financial capacity to do so is deeply troubling! * I’m also concerned about how to possibly convey to you the full impact of your partnership so far and to thank you properly for all you’ve made happen. In fact, I do not think there actually is a way to convey how priceless and crucial you are in helping each individual — let alone the impact you’ve had on millions of people! You’ve helped people in Israel and around the world find strength, resolve, and unity. And you’ve helped tens of millions worldwide enjoy Judaism's spiritual and moral riches, in eight languages! (This would never, ever be possible — if not for people like yourself!) But there's more that we're concerned about here at Chabad.org just now. * With the 2023 tax year coming to a close, we are still quite a way from covering our regular budget…! We also know that there are many people like you who would like to [take part in this work]( and have not yet been reached. Furthermore, many donations are usually made in the very last days of the year. But this year, with Friday and Shabbat on the 29th and 30th of December, that leaves very little time to receive gifts, since we close the [donation page]( on Friday afternoon before Shabbat (as we do for every Shabbat). * So, how can you help? (Especially since the protection of Jews everywhere and the fulfillment of people’s soul desires to grow Jewishly is in your hands!) Well, for starters you can help keep all this going — and propel its expansion. You can contribute generously [online]( to our year-end appeal: [Chabad.org/give]( [PLEASE DONATE NOW!]( If you'd like to express your partnership with a check, you can do so here: Chabad.ORG • 770 Eastern Parkway Suite 405 • Brooklyn, NY 11213 You can also do so via [PayPal]( [E-Check]( or [Bank Transfer/Wire](. (Please also [remember Chabad.ORG in your will]( Secondly, perhaps you can suggest to some of your friends to join, too, by forwarding this email to them with your personal recommendation. There is arguably no other cause that, dollar for dollar, achieves such far-reaching impact! And finally, most importantly: For the protection and morale of Jews everywhere, think about how you can add holiness in your life. To do an additional mitzvah. Study additional Torah. Pray a bit more than you have been. [Modeh Ani]( and [Shema Yisrael]( are good places to start. * Please G-d, we look forward to reporting back to you with lots of wonderful news about our partnership and its results. In the name of the millions of your beneficiaries worldwide, I thank you profusely. May G-d bless you and yours with everything good, both materially and spiritually! And may He protect and bless every single one of our brothers and sisters worldwide — especially in the Holy Land! On behalf of the Chabad.org Team, Rabbi Zalman Shmotkin Executive Director [PLEASE DONATE NOW!]( P.S. Even if you are unable to make a contribution, please don’t worry! Please keep coming back to [the website]( Enjoy it, critique it, demand more from it... After all, isn't that the whole point of all this to begin with...? If you would prefer not to receive any further emails about the 2023 End of Year campaign, please go [here]( to tell us. --------------------------------------------------------------- You are receiving this email at {EMAIL} because you have indicated that you would like to receive periodic communications from Chabad.org, or have recently used one of our services.
