- I want you to see it because it shows the incredible impact you and I can have. [Chabad.org]( By the Grace of G‑d 4 Teves 5783 - December 28, 2022 Dear Friend, I want to show you something that really touched my heart. I want you to see it not because it’s sad... but because it shows the incredible impact you and I can have as the fiscal year of 2022 comes to a close. When you read it, I hope you’ll feel inspired to donate, to keep this service going strong. Here’s where you can go to donate: [www.Chabad.org/give]( Anna writes: My parents are both secular Jews, born in Belarus. When they were growing up they were heavily persecuted for being Jewish. My Judaism is important to me, but I pray and learn in English because I don’t know how to read Hebrew yet. I want my family and me to learn and do more Jewish things but I don’t know where to go or how to start. I know that Chanukah is in December. Can you help me learn about what to do to celebrate and, more importantly, why? Although Anna didn’t grow up observant, her Jewish identity and thirst for knowledge and connection is deep and powerful. Anna wants to study and grow in her Judaism. She wants to understand Shabbat, how to celebrate Jewish holidays, and how to pray. But she doesn’t know where to begin. And she doesn’t know where to find these resources. And that’s where you come in. Would you please help her by making a gift of $36? You can do that by going to: [www.Chabad.org/give]( Your donation will answer Anna’s cry for help. You will empower her family with trustworthy and helpful information. And your gift will ensure that our rabbis and educators will help her and her family with compassionate direction and guidance. I know that your gifts will help because I hear from grateful people all the time. Here is a thank you note from Sarah: I was nervous about “leading” a study group - I know so little! Your weekly study packets made it so easy. We had wonderful discussions, interactions, and questions. You made me a teacher of Jewish thought - even if it was for a short time. And you helped my siblings and their friends gather together to learn about Judaism - giving them what they missed out on when they were younger. Your gift to Chabad.org goes far because you help people learn, and you help them teach others. Before Yom Kippur, Tom wrote us: Thank you for creating a fabulous Jewish outlet for people of all ages. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, but your website has helped me discover new ways to connect with G-d and make my Yom Kippur so much more meaningful. I love your courses and inspirational stories, and all the excellent resources you have to offer! Thank you for doing what you do because it makes such a huge difference! We can only be there for them because of the donations from friends like you. As we come to the end of the fiscal year, we really need to close our books STRONG. The only way that will happen is through the kindness of you and others. We need to sail into 2023 with full speed and high energy! If not, we simply won’t be able to keep up with the demand, G-d forbid. And I’m sure you’ll agree that that would not be acceptable. I hope you’ll consider one last donation in this tax year. Maybe you can give $36 – or any amount that is right for you. Go to our secure giving page at: [www.Chabad.org/give]( I can’t begin to convey how priceless your gift is in helping each and every person who comes to Chabad.org. You will make all the difference to each person seeking wisdom, guidance, and tools for life! If you’ve received anything you value from Chabad.org -- if your life is better, deeper, more equipped -- then please, if at all possible: “[Pay it forward]( so others can get the help they seek. The questions people ask us range from the informational, like “How do I light my menorah?” to the complex, like: “My family member wants to be cremated. I know it’s not allowed. What should I do?” Or “There are no synagogues in my community. How can I learn more about Judaism?” These are important questions. Each one needs a thoughtful answer! That’s why I’m asking you to donate today. [www.Chabad.org/give]( Our online presence gives people the freedom to ask any question without fear of judgment. And our rabbis and counselors labor to give life-affirming answers that lead people toward a higher purpose and spiritual connection. Your generosity makes it possible. Your gift of any amount that’s right for you -- will make sure that people can find the resources they need. (And if now is not a good time for you to give, that’s okay, too. Please do not feel at all worried or guilty!) Chabad.org is the world’s biggest and most active Jewish website. It is THE go-to place for Jewish information. It’s a lifeline for so many. But what really matters is not the size and acclaim, or the huge following. It’s about one person, one connection, one soul crying out. One curious student. One agonizing parent. One elderly Holocaust survivor ... One mother seeking help for her children. And that’s what I hope you’ll think about now: How your donation can help even one person. You'll help someone in the crisis of their life. You'll help someone achieve their purpose. You'll help repair the world, one question, one person at a time. Because December 31 is on Shabbat this year, we will be shutting down our giving page in honor of Shabbat at 4:19 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, December 30th. G-d calls us to set aside Shabbat — so this is really almost your last chance to donate in 2022. Please don’t let the time get away from you! But even if you aren’t planning to include it in your taxes, I hope you’ll give now. Because people need your help right now. Here’s where you can donate, securely and conveniently: [www.Chabad.org/give]( Giving is a great way to end this fiscal year. A mitzvah that will fill your heart with joy. And you’ll make sure that Chabad.org has a strong foundation to keep going. Thank you for your consideration. May your home be filled with wisdom, light, warmth, and joy. With blessings from all of us at Chabad.org, Rabbi Zalman Shmotkin Executive Director P.S. Can you help Anna and so many others seeking guidance, insight, information, inspiration, and a listening ear? Your gift of $36 or any amount that’s right for you will make sure that people get the support they need. Please donate to keep Chabad.org going strong. (Needless to say, your donation is tax-deductible.) We will be shutting down our giving page in honor of Shabbat at 4:19 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, December 30th! P.P.S.
