As we come to the end of Chanukah, remember the Chanukah story... [Chabad.org]( By the Grace of G‑d Eighth Day of Chanukah - Zot Chanukah, 5783 Year of Hakhel December 26, 2022 Dear Friend, Happy Chanukah! After kindling all eight lights last night, we continue to publicize the Chanukah message today, during [Chanukah’s final hours](. And with the spiritual light of these past eight days we illuminate the darkness of the world around us during the entire year to come! Throughout the Chanukah holiday, and especially on its culminating day, we are also supposed to increase our charitable giving. Providentially, as the civil year winds down, there is yet additional focus on our charitable giving. Whether you itemize your tax return or not, this is certainly a good time to take stock. Let's remember the Chanukah story: There was only enough oil to light the Temple menorah for a single day. Yet, they faithfully kindled it – and it miraculously lasted for eight whole days, just the amount of time needed to produce new oil. When we do a good deed, a mitzvah, when we tangibly express our faith and trust in G-d, miracles are bound to follow. In that spirit, I hope you’ll join me in doing a good deed right now, as Chanukah comes to a close: [Can you please donate today to keep the “flame” going]( in these uncertain times? Any amount that fits your budget and expresses your passion for Jewish life, Jewish continuity, and Jewish practice that repairs the world. Your gift will keep our Chabad.org going strong – as the fiscal year ends – and far into 2023. Here’s our secure giving page where you can donate today: [www.chabad.org/give]( So many people all over the world are eager to find out what they can about Chanukah, the Torah, Jewish practice, the Land of Israel, and more ... Traffic at Chabad.org is soaring. Why so much interest? So many people are desperately seeking a higher truth. A calming and reassuring message. Spiritual fortification. A personal relationship with G-d. These things are driving people to seek Jewish wisdom and engagement. Plus, this year has been difficult for so many people. The war in Ukraine, unrest elsewhere. Inflation and the economy. Rising antisemitism. This is why I’m coming to you now with this special request. If you are able, [please donate now]( so that we continue to be there for them. Your donation will strengthen and expand this online source of Jewish wisdom. Of course, if now is not a good time for you to give – I understand. Please don’t feel at all pressured! Chabad.org is the world’s biggest and most active Jewish website. It is THE go-to place for Jewish information and life tools. It is a lifeline for so many. It’s about one Jewish connection at a time. One searching student. One struggling parent. One elderly holocaust survivor. One curious person... [Your donation to Chabad.org]( reaches them all with trustworthy, useful, easy to find information. From a trusted resource staffed by our loving and knowledgeable rabbis, teachers, and counselors. Torah wisdom that changes lives. We can only be there for them because of the support of friends like you who understand the power of Jewish wisdom. If you’ve received anything you value from this online resource – if your life is better, deeper, and more equipped – [please, “pay it forward” so others can get the help and direction they seek](. Your giving will help someone through their personal crisis. You'll help someone achieve purpose. You'll help repair our broken world, one question, one person at a time. Your donation is tax-deductible in the USA for 2022 if you give by December 31. But even if you don’t plan to itemize your tax return, I hope you’ll give now. Because we are most concerned about helping other people in need. Please give here: [www.chabad.org/give]( Giving is a mitzvah that will fill your heart with joy. And it’s a great way to finish Chanukah! With blessings for a happy Chanukah and the new Jewish month of Tevet from all of us at Chabad.org, Rabbi Zalman Shmotkin Executive Director P.S. By internalizing the message of the ever-increasing lights of the menorah — reminding us of the immense power of good over evil — we are able to reveal the good that is hidden in our lives and in the world around us. By directing a year-end gift to Chabad.org – of any amount that's right for you, you will be helping people everywhere who seek guidance, insight, information, inspiration, meaning and a listening ear. Your gift will make sure that people get the support they need. Please donate to keep Chabad.org going strong. Here’s where you can go to donate: [www.chabad.org/give](. Thank you!
