Communities around the world are rededicating themselves to the Rebbe’s teachings and vision of a kinder, more perfect world. [View Online Version]( [11 Nissan: 120 Years. Marking 120 years to the birth of the Lubavitcher Rebbe Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of righteous memory]( By the Grace of G-d Dear Friend, A worldwide celebration is underway – and you are invited! The Rebbe’s birth 120 years ago today (Tue., 11 Nissan - April 12, 2022) is ensconced in the very ‘DNA’ of the Jewish people in the 20th and 21st centuries. Following the devastation of the Holocaust and decades of Communist persecution, the Rebbe – armed only with selfless dedication to the Supreme Being and to every human being – resuscitated a demoralized and depleted world Jewry, and engineered its renaissance. But the Rebbe’s impact superseded the Jewish community, as he shared with all of humanity his belief in the infinite capacity for good within each and every individual. Today, 120 years later, the energy and vitality of his life's teachings empower and encourage us all to recognize that we are each uniquely beloved by and responsible to God Almighty, Who relies on us alone to effect positive change in the world. In observance of this special date: Jewish leaders worldwide are launching sweeping initiatives to make the light of Judaism more accessible than ever before. Heads of State and municipalities worldwide joined United States’ governmental leaders -- the [President]( both houses of Congress, governors of all 50 states, and municipal and university leaders everywhere -- to proclaim the Rebbe's birthday “[Education and Sharing Day]( and to call upon their constituents to focus on the singular status that education should hold in our lives, with particular emphasis on building character and fostering moral and ethical values. And individuals (and communities) everywhere are learning more Torah, praying more intently, and heeding [the Rebbe’s call]( to increase their acts of goodness and kindness. They’re also making [positive resolutions]( for the future. Here are some ideas for specific “birthday gifts” with which you can honor this day: - Give Money to Charity: The spiritual power of this universal mitzvah is incalculable. [Click here to learn all about its]( amazing qualities and effect! - Boost Moral Education: On Education and Sharing Day, communities around the world are following the Rebbe’s call to focus on moral and ethical education. Bring to your Seder another Jew who may otherwise not attend -- especially for the merit of those in Ukraine who will not be able to attend a Seder. You can [choose any other mitzvah]( too!
