By the Grace of G‑d
Dear Friend,
We hope that you and all yours are healthy and safe and well into your Passover prep, despite the unique circumstances of this year. (If someone you know is ill, G‑d forbid, we pray that he or she is quickly restored to good health. And, as always, please do not hesitate to call upon us for anything we can do!)
At Chabad.org we continue to labor on educational, inspirational and practical resources to help people worldwide healthily face and overcome corona's challenges and—in particular of late—to prepare for this year's radically different Passover holiday.
While so doing, we are exposed at times to the searingly painful circumstances many face, and are privileged as well to experience their concurrent positivity, perseverance and purity of faith!
We've shared a little snapshot of these amazing soul-expressions below, in the hope that they inspire and inform your own life.
Additionally, we'd like to ask you to please partner with us to help these extraordinary people – and to help so many countless others like them!

For the past few days I've had symptoms of coronavirus and I am scared, because I'm in a higher risk category. I'd like some advice about what easy things I can practice while I'm ill and especially what I can think about to have a good mindset.
I would like to pray for my friend and her husband who are infected with COVID-19. Which Psalms are the most powerful for a speedy recovery?
Any guidance on making the Seder more meaningful for my kids? I'm overwhelmed by the thought of leading our Seder myself.
My eldest son is quarantined with me and is meant to be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah this Shabbat. Instead, no aliyah, no friends and no family. Is there anything you can think of that could cheer him up?
I get afraid when I hear about patients needing ventilators and other interventions. I could really use help with envisioning the kindness of G‑d and His care for all who are suffering and scared.
We'd have to risk our health to go to the grocery store for Passover food during the Coronavirus pandemic. There will be a lot of other shoppers close to us, and it will take time for us to choose items. Is it OK to skip Passover this year? Please answer soon. Thank you!
I work in a management support position for a hospital in NYC where many people are sick with COVID-19 and which requires a very high chance of exposure to infected people. How does the concept of saving lives apply in this situation?
Now that I'm busy with homeschooling my kids, I really need a spiritual uplifting and "feeding" for my soul.
Besides the coronavirus, my beloved wife and parents have passed, no children or family left, so I will be celebrating pesach alone. This article is giving me hope in a very dark time.
I am older and may have to do Passover on my own. I really do not want to go out unless I absolutely have to... therefore, things like Lettuce will not be available to me. If I have horseradish, is the lettuce necessary? Also, I have a package of chicken bones, if there is a neck in that can I use it? OR I have a package of lamb stew bone in, could I use one of those? Thank you for your time. Stay safe.
I am very afraid of what lies ahead and very alone as we are required to self-isolate. I am 89 and I live alone except for my devoted companion cat.... Thank you for your messages which have helped me.
One of our daughters who has two very young children is afraid about her children and their future. Any simple advice I can give her on how to deal with fear?
I have tested positive for Covid and am dealing with the challenging symptoms. If you can please add me to your prayers that would be great-
Our Inbox is also overflowing with messages of gratitude, far too many to count. A few random helpings:
Receiving your kind emails with literature to read, videos to watch and activities to follow have been like a ray of sunshine during this difficult time.
These messages have given me much strength and remind me of the value of faith, especially in these trying times.
It is wonderful what you guys are doing, especially the human touch of kindness to help us be more positive and caring as human beings
How comforting your emails and articles have been, with all the various lessons and teachings that have been provided! Thank you for guiding me and providing me comfort and direction.
Elderly and alone, Chabad.org is a lifeline to me.
My beloved brother died... Shiva without a minyan, visitors or helpful dinners... But, what brought a semblance of peace and comfort to me during this difficult time was knowing that Kaddish was being said by your volunteers.
This world seems to have suddenly become a much smaller place when a microscopic virus can spread everywhere in a matter of days and when, in a matter of minutes, my expression of my distress can reach you on the other side of the ocean.
Thank you so much for the always inspiring words of the Rebbe!
You are doing for people's spirits, what the courageous doctors and nurses are trying to do for the bodies of those who are victims of this terrible virus.
And, finally, this giant of spirit, all alone in a faraway land:
...Two years ago, when I was 14 years old, my mother turned deathly ill, and doctors and specialists could not stop her aggressive deterioration. At the very last minute they got her in to an experimental treatment that gave us a little hope that she wouldn't leave her two sons alone on this world. We didn't see her for a full half year, while she received constant treatment and a cell transplantation. All the while we were unsure of our future, we might possibly be without a mother and a father. Meanwhile, our grandmother took care of us at almost 80 years old.
Thank God our mother survived but with a lot of limitations on her daily life. Though she cannot be the mother she wanted to be for us, we live in happiness, with our very small family.
Unfortunately, however, with the coronavirus afflicting so many all over the world now, we cannot risk being in proximity to our mother and grandmother, as they can both not survive catching the virus.
So my brother and I have been living alone, and it looks like it will continue for the coming weeks and maybe months. I am learning to cook with many mistakes but we try to help each other. I have been doing dishes, groceries and the laundry and, to be honest, the loneliness and responsibility are tough. Also, this year I was to graduate from high school, but the schools are closed and the exams are postponed, so it creates a lot of uncertainty.
Because of all these things I am finding it difficult at times to remember certain things. The world seems to go by so fast. Every day late in the evening when I pray to the Almighty G‑d I ask myself, "Did I actually do some good mitzvahs this day?" It breaks my heart, for because of the little time I had I had totally forgotten.
This evening I received your e-mail, just as I was yearning for a conversation, to have a moment when I don't have to think about the householding, the dishes, laundry, groceries and exam training.
Thank you...
No words of ours could ever possibly match the purity and elegance of our young correspondent...
