Donald Trump has made it clear that he will do whatever he wants with your tax dollars, {NAME}.
During the Republican National Convention, the Trump Administration used government resources to further their political agenda by filming multiple times on federal property, used interviews from the Department of Housing and Urban Developmentâs work without citizensâ consent, and a remote speech by Mike Pompeo while he was on official White House business abroad.
This is illegal. The president acted in direct violation of the Hatch Act, using American tax dollars to bolster election campaigns that not all Americans support.
On Thursday, I joined my fellow Democrats in Congress to call for a formal investigation of these violations and demand accountability on this abuse of power.
It has been reported that Donald Trump âenjoyed the frustration and angerâ he created by using government resources for the convention. Not only has he happily used your money to boost his campaign, but he has totally disregarded government employees who may have helped organize those events out of fear of persecution by the Administration. These employees may now be in danger of serious legal consequences.
In short, the presidentâs disregard for Americans is not only outrageous and appalling â now, itâs illegal.
That's why I'm demanding that Trump reimburse taxpayers for the money he took from Americans and spent illegally to boost his political agenda.
