Hereâs what Carolyn's been working on:
Making Sure YOU Count:
On a conference call earlier this week, the administration requested four more months to report on the 2020 census results, thanks to COVID-19. [Carolyn is working hard to make sure that both public health AND the 2020 U.S. Census are protected.](
Continuing Support of the USPS:
The dedicated workers at USPS have been fully operating during this pandemic, delivering essential services through mail and packages. This week, Carolyn hosted an Oversight Committee video briefing that detailed the devastating impact that the COVID-19 crisis has had on the finances of the USPS and asked that Congress and the president provide necessary assistance to this vital organization â before it no longer has the means to continue operating.
Fighting Period Poverty at Home:
Since 2016, NYC schools have provided free feminine products to all NYC students, and with school now out of session, some student leaders are calling for those supplies to be distributed to New Yorkers in need. As a lifelong champion for women and someone who has fought to end the âpink tax,â [Carolyn has thrown her support behind these studentsâ efforts.](
Virtual Town Halls:
Carolyn has continued to hold virtual town halls and meetings with community organizers, including Indivisible UES, the East Village Small Business Relief Group, fellow elected officials, community boards around the city, and more.
Get Ready to VOTE!:
Governor Cuomo has announced that all New Yorkers will be able to vote absentee in the June 23 Primary Election. More information and links to the absentee ballot voter form can be found [here.](
