We are facing the biggest challenge to abortion in decades. I have fought proudly for abortion, but one of my opponents is flip-flopping on the issue. Dear {NAME}, The last few months have hit us hard. Between the leaked draft of the Dobbs v. Jackson Supreme Court decision in May to the actual decision that came down in June, the extremist, right-wing attacks on abortion are mounting. Even before this disaster, I worked tirelessly to make abortion safe, affordable and accessible to everyone. That’s why it was so hard to see my opponent flip-flop on this critical issue – one that he clearly doesn’t understand – in an interview released this week. As a pro-choice Latina, I am not just checking a box to win this primary. I am fighting, tooth and nail, for reproductive freedom, which Black and Latina women have been historically denied in more ways than one. I have fought proudly for abortion and contraception access. In the New York City Council, [my Women's Caucus colleagues and I spearheaded the nation’s first municipally funded abortion access fund]( expanded equitable access to contraception, and defended gender-affirming and culturally humble healthcare. In fact, it's because of my record that, we made news this week when PODER PAC, which helps elect pro-choice Latina women, announced their [endorsement]( of my candidacy. Plus, just last week, the City Council passed a legislative package to protect abortion rights, which included my bills to require that City-run health sites provide FDA approved abortion pills at no cost to patients and to fight back against harmful fake clinics. I will fully support executive and legislative actions to meaningfully protect abortion access, including: ✅ Ending the Hyde Amendment ✅ Declaring a public health emergency for reproductive health care access ✅ Ending the filibuster ✅ Funding abortion care Will you ensure that New York City, and the entire country, is a safe place to access abortion care for all who seek it?
