[Open in browser]( cargo.site [No ve mber 07 â23]() At the base of the Sheep Range (the mountains that border the northern end of Las Vegas) we are sitting atop a modest butte in the center of a wide arroyo, itself located within a gigantically wide wash. The butte is perfectly flat on top, with just enough room for us to sit with legs crossed, arms leaning back. It stands at about 20 feet. The banks of the arroyo are a little lower, maybe 15 feet â the earth has simply washed away in eroding rains, leaving the solitary, tall clay and pebble pillar. Though there is no one around for miles, to an onlooker we would likely appear as some sort of existential figure, oddly isolated in the middle of this primarily bone white canyon. * * *
It is later in the day, so the miles of sage brush are casting long scooping shadows across the desert floor â in appearance the environment has completely changed from what it was only an hour ago. Itâs sweeter now, less resolute. In a few more hours all will morph again â the mountain and sky will go from hazed, steely-striated brown, and gleaming swimming pool blue, to purply pyramids amidst massive darkening billows of deeply saturated pastels â of which, the slow tide of evening will smooth to an infinitude of black blue. [Ilaria Golin]( Hermeneutics, the study of meaning and interpretation, has its origin in the Greek verb hermeneuein (to interpret), which has its derivation in the name of Hermes, the Olympian messenger god. We love this idea of meaning needing a carrier. As well, the symbol of Hermes, who carried the messages of the Gods, being himself a sort of trickster â pointing to the need for interpretation (and thus the trickiness of meaning, generally). We find a similar emphasis or play or laying bare of this meaning/carrier dynamic throughout designer [Ilaria Golin]()âs site and work â like meaning carried by typography and graphic arrangement â something like the designer as messenger.

[45. Gathering Together [Massing]](
[12. Standstill [Stagnation]](
These first few lines are the general aphoristic returns for the week. They are raw and uninterpreted; there to use how youâd like. (The specific readings follow.) - It is a time of realistically sizing up possibilities.
- Take time to clarify your understanding of your talents and shortcomings as regards the navigation of your future.
- When gathering large amounts (whether people, objects and/or ideas) preparation and organization is of utmost importance.
- Strive to be a healthy manager.
- Be realistic about the tendencies of structure.
- There are times when deep confusion reigns â this is a time to withdraw â donât get seduced into cheap solutions. * * *
From âM.S.â: There are fundamental aspects to our life of which there is little or no progress. Is there advice for such times, where there seems to be no movement in the zones which either bring us fundamental joy or fuel? * * *
There are unfortunately times where things are out of whack. Likely due to not taking the time to get the fundamentals right at the beginning of a relations. The best thing to do is withdraw and reflect. Do not try to force the needle. Manipulation or seduction would be disasterous. So, work on your projects privately. You and the situation will develop â definitely keep an eye out for a change in the weather â if down the road, things seem to be more favorable â give it another shot. Timing really is everything here. * * *
Complete Reading This week we pulled The Queen of Pentacles. The image here is of a sensitive and intelligent queen contemplating her prospects. Using this as a model, it is a time for realistically sizing up your talents and natural assets. You are right up against a significant aspect of your future, this self awareness is going to shape how you fare against the journey and topology ahead. Our first hexagram this week is #45, Gathering Together (Massing). When gathering a large quantity of stuffs, whether of people, materials, or ideas, it has to be done with the proper context/purpose. That is, there is a danger when volume is at play â if responsible organization isnât heeded. One must struggle to understand where these people, materials and/or ideas have emanated from and of course where they are headed (to know what their ultimate purpose is). In short, you must be the best manager you can be. There was one change this week, of which the specific notes are: groups need to be led â but a leader must inherently be better (behavior-wise) than the masses. Our second hexagram, the one that suggests how best to meet the challenges (or the changes) is #12, Standstill (Stagnation). There are times when darkness, or a lack of clarity, dominates â likely because the fundamental aspects werenât given proper attention. These are times when unfortunately nothing is to be done â force will only tangle everything up more. In such times one must simply learn to be patient. It is fine in these times to âhide your worth and withdraw into seclusion.â --------------------------------------------------------------- [Home Â]() [Instagram Â]( [Unsubscribe](
