They used to live in a camp for displaced people. There was no water, and Hamdi and her siblings couldn’t attend school. With determination, Mariam moved her family – including 14 children and her husband, whom she cares for due to his disability – so her children could attend school and have the education that would pave them a future of independence. It was her mother that wanted Hamdi to go to school. Supporters like you helped provide a CARE scholarship so Hamdi and other girls could have the uniform, books, and materials they needed for their studies.
