One week left of our biggest match of the season — Give now »   One week left of our biggest match of the season. [Give with 5X* the impact »](     {NAME}, I want you to see the urgent memo below from CARE’s Emergency Director. The global hunger crisis is robbing children of their nutrition and parents of their dignity in being able to feed their families. Women are doing everything they can – working any sliver of land not already destroyed by drought or locusts, leaving everything behind in search of food and water, and seeking new ways to rebuild their livelihoods. You can help strengthen their access to resources and support their ability to feed their own families. [Give during our biggest match of the season to have 5X the impact »]( – Angie   [5X MATCH - GIVE NOW](   [View online »](   [CARE](   Urgent: Child malnutrition is spiking in Somalia From: Elmi AbdiNur, CARE Emergency Director As hunger worsens all over the world, Somalia is on the brink of famine. More and more children are showing up to CARE-supported health facilities weak and dehydrated from hunger.   - 1.4 million children in Somalia are malnourished – this number is expected to rise with another season of drought. - The war in Ukraine is worsening hunger, disrupting global trade and increasing the price of wheat by over 40%. - Milk production has dropped as over 700,000 livestock have died. - Families have completely lost their livelihoods.   We are expecting the number of malnourished children to rise each day. The increase in admissions is overwhelming our health facilities and we need more support to reach more children, especially in remote areas. Without urgent attention, Somalia could see more child deaths than we saw in the 2011 Somalia famine.     [5X MATCH - GIVE NOW](   Why give? By the end of this year, 47 million more people could face starvation. On top of drought and crisis, the war in Ukraine has worsened global hunger. In Somalia, over 90% of the country’s wheat comes from Russia and Ukraine. Now the price of staples is inflated by 300% – the issue of unaffordable food is global. [Your gift strengthens women all over the world doing everything they can to feed their families.](   *CARE’s Fall Match has a special match fund, which will allow one-time gifts made by September 30, 2022, to be matched up to a total of $500,000. If your one-time gift is received after September 30, 2022, or after we’ve reached our total match fund, it will not be matched but will still support our lifesaving programs. New monthly gifts are not matched as part of this special fund. [Facebook]( [Instagram]( [Twitter](   Text CARE to 227387 to receive SMS updates about your impact around the world.
