Electing diverse candidates is a tangible step towards eliminating systemic racism! Happy Juneteenth

Electing diverse candidates is a tangible step towards eliminating systemic racism! Happy Juneteenth, {NAME}! On this day in 1865 – two and a half years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation – Union soldiers landed in Galveston, Texas with news that enslaved Black Americans were freed, effectively ending the institution of slavery in the United States. Since then, Black Americans in office have led the charge in the ongoing fight to protect (and expand!) our civil rights, increase access to the ballot, and ensure that the fight for equality and justice moves forward. And today, The C6 Project is proud to support some incredible Black candidates running for office: Sen. Raphael Warnock, Rep. Lauren Underwood, Rep. Val Demings, Mandela Barnes, and Cheri Beasley! [We’ll dive into those candidates in a moment, but first we have to ask: Will you split a donation between The C6 Project and these incredible candidates to help elect these champions to Congress?]( [SPLIT A DONATION]( [U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock]( U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock grew up in public housing in Savannah, and for fifteen years, he served as Senior Pastor in the former pulpit of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In the Senate, he makes environmental justice and creating clean energy jobs a top priority. [Representative Lauren Underwood]( Representative Lauren Underwood introduced over 40 pieces of legislation in her first term. Rep. Underwood is the youngest Black woman ever elected to Congress, a registered nurse and public health expert, champion of the 100% Clean Economy Act, and a fighter to make our economy work for everyone. [Representative Val Demings]( Representative Val Demings As a Black woman in the South, Val has already broken multiple glass ceilings — including becoming the first woman to lead the Orlando Police Department. She served as an impeachment manager in Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, and was on President Biden’s shortlist of potential running mates in 2020! [Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes]( Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes is Wisconsin's first-ever Black Lieutenant Governor, and with your support, he will make history as the first-ever Black senator from Wisconsin! His race in Wisconsin is one of Democrats’ best chances at expanding our majority in the Senate. [Cheri Beasley]( Cheri Beasley dedicated her career to the people of North Carolina as a public defender, then as an Associate Justice of the state Supreme Court. Now, she’s on her way to breaking another glass ceiling as the first Black woman to represent North Carolina in the Senate! [{NAME}, one of the best ways to root out systemic racism is to elect diverse candidates with a proven record of defending our civil rights. Split a donation between these campaigns and The C6 Project today to help elect these champions ]( Thanks for your support, The C6 Project [C6 Project]( Our Candidates Commit to 6 Pillars of Combating Climate Change: 1.
