Shortcuts, a relatively recent addition to iOS's built-in apps, allows iPhone users to perform various tasks across apps with a single tap. With a shortcut, you can combine things you often do consecutively (such as turn on Do Not Disturb and start your sleep playlist) into a single streamlined process. For example, the Directions Home shortcut performs the following actions: it opens your maps app, inputs your current location and home address, then calculates the most efficient route for your drive home. Instead of you doing all those steps manually, the Directions Home shortcut can do it for you in a single tap! Because shortcuts are so customizable, creating your own can be a little intimidating at first. Instead, I suggest perusing some of the ready-made shortcuts in the Gallery. (You can find these by tapping the Gallery tab at the bottom right of the Shortcuts app.) In the Gallery, tap on a shortcut to learn more about it, then tap the ellipsis button to see all the actions involved in that shortcut. (This is a good way to gain a better understanding of how various actions work and how you can use them in other scenarios.) One last tip: Make your most frequently used shortcuts even easier to use by adding them to your Home Screen! To do so, tap the ellipsis button on one of your shortcuts, then select Add to Home Screen. Learn more about shortcuts in the [Shortcuts User Guide](.
