Marxie Mansion Dollhouse. As much as I loved dolls as a girl, I think I liked dollhouses even more! The Marxie Mansion Dollhouse was a big deal in the '60s—it came with lots of furniture, and there were playground sets and other accessories you could add. I guess they've become quite the collector's item! 2. Rainbow-Striped Rain Ensemble. I'll never forget the Christmas that I went downstairs and found a matching raincoat, rain boots, and umbrella—all adorned with rainbow-colored stripes—laid out for me by the Christmas tree. I immediately donned the whole outfit and wore it all day. 3. Hippity Hop. The Hippity Hop was the must-have toy of 1971. Everyone wanted the ‘amazing inflatable riding ball' (as it was described in advertisements), including my sister Becky and I. We were over the moon when we finally got one, though I’m sure we had plenty of arguments over whose turn it was to play with it. 4. Easy-Bake Oven. I've written about this particular toy before in this segment, but no list of favorite presents from my childhood would be complete without it! I created many masterpieces (and an equal number of disasters) in that little light bulb-powered oven. 5. The Secret Garden. I received a copy of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett for Christmas when I was around 8 years old. It was this book more than any other that inspired my lifelong love of reading, and it will always have a special place in my heart for that reason!
